Did you know? 🍷 Not all red wines shine at room temperature!

Wines have tannins, which give them that bitter, astringent bite. Older, bolder reds like Bordeaux and Malbec are packed with tannins, while lighter, younger wines like Pinot Noir have fewer. Chilling can accentuate these tannins – great for lighter reds, not so much for the bolder ones. For those lighter, fruitier reds, a little chill tames the alcohol and brings out delicate fruit flavour & aromas.

A perfect example? Fauna Red Blend, available right here at Westside, is an excellent choice for chilling! 🍇❄️

How to chill your wine? Pop the bottle in the fridge for 15-20 minutes before serving, or use an ice bucket with a mix of ice and water. Aim for 13-15 °C – cooler than room temp, but not fridge cold.
