Do you remember the Oilers' oil drop jerseys? We've got throwback flags in the shop for OG Oilers fans 💪 Don't know what we're talking about? Read on 👉 In 2001, they introduced a bold new logo, featuring a sleek oil drop surrounded by metallic gears. The idea? To modernize the team's image and pay tribute to Alberta's oil-rich heritage. But here's the twist: fans weren't having it. 🤯 The futuristic design didn't sit well with those who missed the Oilers' glory days in the '80s, when they won five Stanley Cups. They felt the new logo represented a departure from the traditional look associated with the team's most successful era. The original logo, simple yet iconic, held a special place in their hearts ❤️‍🔥 So, what did the Oilers do? They listened. The oil drop logo was scrapped by 07', and the team brought back their classic emblem. But now, for many, the oil drop logo has become nostalgic for those remembering the 2000's.
