✨🎄 What is Simbang Gabi? 🎄✨

Simbang Gabi, or “Night Mass,” is a cherished Filipino tradition of attending nine dawn or evening masses leading up to Christmas. It’s a time of prayer, reflection, and community, with the streets lit up by Parol lanterns 🌟

For many Filipinos, the experience isn’t complete without sharing special holiday treats afterward. Favorites like P**o Bumbong (steamed purple rice cakes) and Bibingka (rice flour cakes) bring warmth and comfort to chilly December nights.

We’ve had SO many questions about our space and when we plan to open, so here’s a little update!

We’re excited to announce that we will be joining our friends at as a permanent tenant!

There are a few delays currently but we are BEYOND excited for you to see what we have in store. Abangan!

Thank you everyone for your love this summer! We’ve are so honoured to have the constant support, loyalty, and encouragement from you all! Due to some continuing circumstances, we are going on another break, for a bit longer this time. But, we are working on something that has been Abby’s goal since day 1!!!

That being said, ice cream will no longer be available in pints for purchase. Our ice cream will occasionally be on the menu at a few restaurant partners - which we will let you know about in our stories! We MAY have a couple pop-ups throughout the next few months 😉

We wanna give a HUGE thank you to Aloha Hawaiian Poke & Grill for providing a home for us and for their unwavering support. They are the true pinnacle of bayanihan (community support) and a pillar of representation in Edmonton by honouring the rich cultural filipino ties in Hawaii. Their food is also just 🔥🔥🔥 If this hasn’t become a staple foodie spot for you yet.. where you been?!?

We are filled with so much gratitude and excitement for what is to come. All we can say is, next summer - you better be ready for DRTY SZN 🍨☀️

We had an amazing experience with .yeg last year in October where we participated in a BIPOC led creative 4 part workshop - we taught the youth how to make ice cream!

Not only did we talk about ice cream, but we also shared about the history of ice cream in the Philippines and the reality of street vendors in todays economy. We were able to share our process of how we curate flavours, and encouraged the group to express themselves with their own flavours! Everyone created their own pint of ice cream to take home. We had an amazing time connecting with a dynamic group of beautiful humans. The entire workshop was documented and will be premiering this spring as a film documentary 😍 We are very honoured to be given the opportunity to serve the community, and look forward to future work within Canada as well as the Philippines 🫶🏻
