🔴 $11,447! 🔴

We're excited to share that we collaborated with 96.3 The Breeze to raise money for the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton by selling Feel Good Christmas Cookies at our food stores this holiday season!

Thanks to the generous support of our members and customers, we were able to donate $11,447! These funds go directly to helping more than 50,000 YEG area families enjoy a festive meal during the holiday season.

2024 was a whirlwind of growth, with many memorable moments we shared with the community this year. We covered a lot of ground this year, and some of our favourites include:

- Raising over $45,000 in support of our local food banks and $10,346 for local school breakfast and lunch programs through our Good Buy to Hunger campaigns
- Celebrating the opening our Orchards Co-op food store and Stony Plain Cardlock
- Raising just over $25,000 on Fuel Good Day in support of the Edmonton Epilepsy Association
- Supporting the Jasper fire relief efforts by donating $34,000 to the Canadian Red Cross
- Providing 5,000 Edmontonians free breakfast and free entry to KDays at the KDays Premiers' Breakfast
- Serving thousands of free hot dogs, pancakes and snacks at over 30 community events
- Donating over 900 volunteer hours to support local groups and causes in our communities
- Hosting Kids Club Members at Boo at the Zoo
- Participating in Taste of Edmonton
- Teaming up with Edmonton Elks to fuel up for game day
- Celebrating our Fuel Your Summer winners
- Hosting our 3 Minute to Win It $500 shopping sprees at Orchards Food Store!
- Celebrating member-owner Lorine B. who won $10,000 in our Together We Win contest while also donating $10,000 to the
- Supporting the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton during their Annual Christmas Hamper Day

Local Vendor Feature! Say hello to Jake's Seasonings 👋

From a 5-gallon pail in our kitchen to stores throughout the province, Jake’s Seasoning has become popular with thousands and thousands of families.

Jake's Legendary Steak spice - now called our Original - started with our backyard barbequing. In the beginning, visitors to our house for dinner always wanted "some of that spice" to take home. It was our local golf course owner, who encouraged us to bottle some and take it to a farmers market. We took 100 bottles, some steak bites and a little barbeque to the Millarville Farmers Market. Within an hour, our bottles and steak bites were gone! It was a smash hit. To this day, buyers constantly remind us of the day they first became acquainted with Jake’s.

All of our seasonings are award-winning. We sponsor a competitive barbeque/smoker team from Alberta who use our seasonings on a regular basis. And they win!

We are eternally grateful to the Co-op’s of Alberta for giving a small local company like Jake’s Seasoning Inc, an opportunity that we will never, ever forget. Thank you, Co-op. You are truly a leader and supporting local products. Small business builds communities, and we have accomplished the impossible.
