Today we reflect and educate ourselves about an important aspect of Canada’s history.
September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to commemorate the Indigenous children who didn’t return home and to honour Survivors of the residential school system, along with their families and their communities.
This day coincides with Orange Shirt Day, an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day intended to raise awareness of the individual, family and community inter-generational impacts of residential schools, and to promote the concept of “Every Child Matters”. As such, The Truffles Group will be wearing orange shirts and pins, donating to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society, and sharing important learning resources with all our Team Members in recognition of this important day.
We remain committed to being active in listening and learning about the injustices of Indigenous peoples and communities. We stand with you.
