CALGARY!!! No need to fret… is back!

One if our favourite Tuscan producers is back with a fresh vintage drop.

Their Brunello di Montalcino is absolutely stunning. The 2019 vintage is being hailed as “spoiled for choice” with the wines showing beautifully along their evolution. This expression has dense cherry, worn leather, firm tannins and a chewy underbelly.

Their Rosso (or Baby Brunello) is an excellent introduction to this producer. Vibrant, crunchy red fruit is met with savoury herbs and a subtle leather saddle note.

Adone, their “Super Tuscan” is 95% Sangiovese with 5% Merlot blended in, adding a wash of black fruit and surprising depth. Easily one of the best value wines in the shop!

Our love for Italian wine knows no limits. And to expand on our extensive collection, we introduced the wines from , including their Monferrato Bianco, made of the indigenous grape Timorosso.

This iconic winery in Piedmont has evolved over the years while staying true to the traditions, quality snd commitment instilled by its founder, Antonio Scarpa.

Antonio founded the company in 1900. Born in 1879 on the island of Burano, in Venice, he moved at a young age to Nizza Monferrato to trade wines. Two connections made him stay: one was with a magnificent land with a still unexpressed winemaking potential, the other was his love for Ernestina Ottavia Deantonio, who became his wife in 1908.

New wines from legendary winemaker Bruno Lafon have arrived! This Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are crafted by Bruno, Alice and Sharon Lafon, under the name Famille Bruno Lafon. Made with fruit harvested from the Languedoc region in southern France.

The white is an easy-drinking and plump Chardonnay with peach, pineapple and citrus, finishing with a crisp, slightly mineral driven edge.

The red has hallmarks of a classic Pinot grown in a cool terroir with juicy summer red fruits on the palate, intermingled with flavours of freshly ground clove and silky soft tannins.

This weekend we have the most delicious Cabernet Franc from Veneto on feature and open to taste.

Cabernet Franc is crunchy and herbaceous with juicy red berries and a faint hint of crushed gravel.
