The origins of Flor de Caña lie in a huge sugarcane plantation founded in 1890 by Alfredo Francisco Pellas, near Chichigalpa in Nicaragua. It was the same Pellas family who set up the distillery (Compania Licorera de Nicaragua) in 1937, and who still run what is the country’s only rum distillery.

Like the myth itself, this spirit may appear sweet in nature, but it hides a sinister and smoky twist… not to be underestimated.

The Unicorn’s Tale is non-chill filtered at 46%.

Awarded a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2024 and two Gold medals at the International Spirits Challenge 2024 and the International Wine and Spirits Competition.

Aroma
Rich, sweet, aromatic and fruity, baked banana bread and syrupy sponge pudding fill the senses. Notes of treacle trot into a distinctive whiff of burning cedarwood. A splash of water releases a bounty of tropical fruits. Eucalyptus oil mingles with soft, aromatic smoke.

Taste
Zesty notes of lime and sweet peaches canter across the palate. A burst of rich smoked fruit and baked bread prance into antiseptic lozenges, creosote, and aniseed. Soft barley malt combines with nutmeg and peat smoke.

Finish
The influence of these rare Madeira casks is undeniable. A whimsically smoky finish welcomes a long and lingering aftertaste of menthol, clove, wood smoke and camphor.

Something special… GlenAllachie 30y Batch 4! This antique single malt exudes sheer Sherry-matured sophistication. Master Distiller Billy Walker carefully selected three Pedro Ximénez and two Oloroso casks from amongst an enviable inventory of ultra-aged stocks. The vintage Sherry puncheons and hogsheads have unified to create a truly magnificent single malt abundant in forest fruits, gooey chocolate fondant and wild Scottish honey tones.
We proudly present The GlenAllachie 30-year-old Batch 4 with integrity; at its cask strength of 49.1%, without added colouring or chill filtration, allowing the extraordinary liquid within the bottle to speak for itself.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Dark chocolate, honeycomb and raisin butter, with hints of muscovado sugar, plum syrup and glazed almonds.
—
Taste: Rich cocoa, heather honey and chocolate raisins, followed by baking spices and molasses, with notes of Black Forest gâteau, grape must and orchard fruits.
