with Sydney’s OG sushi master.
We are absolutely thrilled to welcome back Sydney’s OG sushi master Toshi Oe for a specially curated Bluefin & Burgundy culinary and wine experience.

Sunday September 22nd

With a prestigious career spanning 30 years, Toshi Oe’s (Toko, Masuya, Sushi Oe) expertise centres on the excellence of highly sourced fish and delicate presentation inspired by Japanese culture.

To bring his vision to life, Toshi Oe has partnered with respected fish supplier Narito Ishii to source the highest quality Bluefin Tuna and selection of seafood for his Omakase menu.

The ‘Bluefin & Burgundy’ menu is set to include dishes such as oyster moro miso, baby scallop Aomori, Nitenmori sashimi, eel temaki and wagyu beef; with the additional option of extra courses such as caviar bumps or short spine sea urchin.

Diners will have the option to personalise their ‘Bluefin & Burgundy’ adventure by choosing between a matching wine option or wine by the glass and bottle from a list of Burgundies hand selected by The Wine Library Sommelier and owner Tim Perlstone.

All seating will be at the bar so as to experience the master at his craft. However if you do require a table in the dining please let us know in the notes.

January special by the glass 🫰
Meyer-Fonné is a renowned winery located in the village of Katzenthal, known for its distinctive granite soils. The winery and family home are situated in this village, and it has gained admiration among Alsace colleagues for its winemaking practices.
Felix Meyer, the proprietor of Meyer-Fonné, follows a traditional approach in winemaking. He believes in raising his wines on fine lees in large, older foudres. This method reflects the historical winemaking tradition of Alsace, where foudres (large wooden casks) have been used for aging wines.
The domaine spans 12 hectares and exploits vineyards in seven different communes. This diversity allows Meyer-Fonné to source grapes from various terroirs, contributing to the complexity and character of their wines. The emphasis on traditional techniques and the commitment to the unique terroir of Alsace are likely factors contributing to the winery’s positive reputation among fellow winemakers in the region.

For those of you who are hearing about this for the first time, Rodrigo was involved in a serious motorcycle accident while travelling to work on Saturday morning Dec 9th and suffered significant injuries. He had emergency spinal surgery late Saturday night to stabilise his spine, which went as well as could be expected, however there was serious damage to his spinal cord and currently, Rod is paralysed from the waist down.
