Well where do we start.
7 years and 3months is a heck of a lot of memories. The first day at the shop was cold and foggy and freezing but everyone welcomed us and came in to meet the new owners (only the 2nd for Gables).
Over the years we have experienced crazy things in the world; floods, bush fires and pandemics - the open/shut borders, masks on/off.
We have also made some wonderful friendships that we know are for life. The stories and chats. We have felt like a real shop family and a hub of the community.
The lemon meringue pies, honey, jams, relishes have been very welcome.
We have seen kids grow up in the shop - our three especially.
The staff we have had have certainly been “like a box of chocolates- you never know what you’re gonna get”. You know which one you are 🤣
We have had the great chip storage and one of the biggest dramas - the flood at the Marathon Dim Sim Factory - we almost had people hyperventilating lol
One thing we both agree on is buying this place was the best thing we ever did - even if we had second thoughts occasionally.
Thankyou just doesn’t seem enough but it comes from the heart. Our time spent at Gables has made a big impression on our lives and family. Much love Andrew, Danielle and Family 💕

Please welcome and support Mathew and Carlie Symington and their family as they start their journey in Gables. They take over tomorrow October 1st.
Getting to know them has been fun and we feel comfortable in handing over the tongs to them in their next great adventure 💕🥰🎉🌺

Sitting in my yard having a beverage after our second last day in the shop it felt like yesterday when i said Danielle Maclean I want to buy this shop up the road from where I once lived...so we did ....for seven and a tad years we had good times, tears, stress, missed a lot of life, but we achieved our goals together. Thank you Danielle for being there at my side.. we did it . Now the next chapter 👍👍
