Good morning all. We have recorded a quick video of the beautiful sunset from last night.
We also have a scheduled power outage in Waratah tomorrow from 9AM - 4PM this means we will be closed until 4PM. We apologise for the inconvenience.

We would really like to thank everyone who has stopped by to offer support this week. We truley appreciate each and every one of you and are grateful for your kindness. Although working seven days a week can be challenging at times, knowing that we have your support makes it all worthwhile.

Tasmania Fire Service, Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service, Sustainable Timber Tasmania, and interstate and international remote area teams and personnel are working together to battle the West Coast bushfires.

With weather conditions easing over the past four days, agencies have been using the favourable conditions to get more crews on the fireground and assess key areas.

While the weather is currently favourable, warmer temperatures are forecast for later this week, and it's important to continue to monitor conditions and always be aware of current messaging.

Western Tasmania's premier wood chopping carnival is just a week away. On-site camping is available on the football oval adjacent to the arena for fully self-contained vehicles. Alternatively, the council camping ground, located on the banks of the Waratah town lakes, is available for those without self-contained facilities. To book a site at the council's camping area, please contact the Waratah council chamber on 64397100 during business hours. Our BBQ crew and food vendors will be on hand to satisfy your hunger, while our licensed bar tent will provide a range of drinks. Please note that the event is strictly non-BYO, in line with our liquor license conditions, and will be policed. Children's entertainment and an undercover market will be available in the Elma Fagan hall, run by the Waratah 7321 men's shed. We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday, 8th February, for a great fun day of entertainment.
