We announce the closure of our Montville Cellar Door. Castle Glen has been open at The Pottery for nearly 16 years and has seen many different events come and go along with lovely staff members.

We have been proud to serve you and the community for so long and extend our deepest gratitude for your patronage.

We, and our wonderful staff are appreciative for the opportunity to have served so many wonderful customers over the years.

The closure of the Montville Cellar Door will be Monday, 24 February 2025. We will be available to answer any questions you may have during this closing period.

Craving a Strawberry Daiquiri? 🍓

Here’s the Castle Glen Recipe:

Preparation Time: 5 Min.

Ingredients:
• 50 ml Castle Glen’s White Rum*
• 30 ml Castle Glen’s Strawberry Liqueur*
• 10 ml fresh Lime juice
• 6 fresh Strawberries

Instructions:
Blend all ingredients with ice cubes (or use frozen strawberries) serve in a cold Margarita Glass to change it up swap the Strawberry Liqueur for Mango Liqueur and White Rum for Coconut Rum.

Winemaking doesn’t become much more ‘hands on’ when hand plunging Once fermentation of the grape juice begins in the red wine vats, the carbon dioxide that is naturally produced lifts the skins and forces them to the top of the vats. These lifted skins are called the cap. Heat is also trapped in the cap. Hand-plunging is the process of forcing the skins back down into the vats to ensure that all of their colour and tannin are infused into the wine. It also evens out the temperature and prevents wine spoilage.
