When we started the Le Pont range our ambitions were pretty simple - create an affordable range of wines that look good and over deliver compared to their peers. We are delighted to report that, based on their success and popularity over the past couple of years, they are delivering on our brief!

Now, along with our ever popular Rose and Shiraz, we have two new additions to the range which we believe pay homage to their respective regions, not always easy to achieve at moderate price points. Our Hunter Valley Chardonnay is testament to our great relationship with, and skill of gun Hunter Valley winemaker Usher Tinkler. He has delivered us a regionally-classic wine of white peach and nectarine flavours not unecumbered by too much winemaking influence - a pure delight. Our Central Otago Pinot Noir could be from nowhere else - all lovely, brambly fruit and a streak of wild lavender and thyme charcteristic of the region.

Super Tuscany masterclass

From the glistening waters of the Ligurian Sea across the rolling hills of Chianti to the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence, there are few destinations more picturesque than Tuscany. The history, the romance, the landscape, and of course, the wines of this region are legend.

Here Sangiovese is king and Chianti is a household name. But what about Montalcino and Montepulciano, or San Gimignano and Bolgheri? Scratch just beneath the surface and find Sangiovese in styles to suit all occasions; white wines both crisp and pristine or fleshy and textural; and experimentation with ‘international’ varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot crafted with a distinctly Italian flair.

Since its humble beginnings in 1997, Hewitson has built a formidable reputation as one of the Barossa’s most respected and singular producers. Championing old vine Mourvédre from the world’s oldest surviving planting (1853), renowned vigneron Dean Hewitson crafts unique wines of elegance and longevity: in his words, ‘old world in style with a new world twist’.

Join us and our good friend Luca Scuri of Hewitson’s distributor, Saint Wines, on Wednesday 15 May as we explore eight wines from Hewitson alongside matching bites. We’ll taste all the key varieties that both Hewitson and the Barossa are highly regarded for while we examine the gradation of complexity, intensity and capacity to age as we take a comprehensive journey through a suite of Dean’s impressive releases. Drive a little over an hour south from Melbourne and you’ll find Ten Minutes by Tractor perched atop Main Ridge at the heart of one of the country’s most lauded wine growing regions: Mornington Peninsula.

Just 20km east to west and sharing less than 1% of Australia’s land under vine, the peninsula might be small but it’s perfectly formed. Framed on three sides by ocean, and reaching up to 300m above sea level, it’s the ideal home for some of the country’s best cool climate wines.

Ten Minutes by Tractor is one such winery to call the Peninsula home. Here they craft beautiful expressions of regional staples, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, from both lower and higher altitude plots as well as incredibly high quality examples of crowd-pleasing varieties including Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc.
