Our Story
Elizabeth Bay Cellars started two doors down in 1978. We moved to our current location (76 Elizabeth Bay Road) in 1986. Prior to this, the site had been the location of Primo’s Restaurant.
Primo’s had been an institution of the local area and if you ever have the opportunity to pop by to the store in person, please do, so that we may show you the two original Geoffrey Smart paintings on the walls, painted here in the 1950s.
After the move to the current location in 1986, Elizabeth Bay Cellars continued its focus on boutique liquors and upmarket Australian wines. However, the additional space also allowed for a much greater expansion into international wines. Further, the addition of a large wine cellar and temperature controlled fine wine room ensured that our large collection of rare Grange vintages could be well cared for.
Elizabeth Bay Cellars has become a stalwart and icon of the local community; not only for its extensive product range but also for its vivid passion, wealth of industry knowledge and warm service.
