Come and join our Friday Wine Tasting, The Mowbray Road Cellars is showcasing Five Geese Wines from McLaren Vale, South Australia.

Come and taste wines made by our winemaker Mike Farmilo.

Mike Farmilo is a former maker of Penfolds Grange, St Henri and Bin 707 and twice winner of the Jimmy Watson Trophy. He has been making wine in McLaren Vale for over 30 years and is a legend of the industry...and an all-round nice guy.

Growing up in the Riverland, Mike completed his winemaking studies at Roseworthy in 1977 and worked for Angoves in the late 70s - including winning a trophy with a Riverland Riesling in 1981.

Joining Seaview as winemaker in the 1980s, Mike became Group Red winemaker for Penfolds/Southcorp – responsible for all Penfolds red wines including Grange and St Henri, Lindeman’s wines, Seppelt, Wynns and Leo Buring. During his tenure with Penfolds/Southcorp Mike won at least one trophy at every capital city wine show every year and twice won the coveted Jimmy Watson trophy for the best red wine in Australia.

In the midst of all this Mike has also completed vintages in Germany, California, France and Chile. With that much experience, it’s no surprise our wines taste so good!

They can’t divert the landline to my mobile apparently?

They are having issues with staff due to Covid?

And stuffed my business too. As I can’t receive calls or get a diversion to my mobile.
