Murray's Porters Liquor Glenbrook

Murray's Porters Liquor Glenbrook New look, new prices. We support the Responsible Service of Alcohol. A great range of wine (for all tastes and budgets), craft and mainstream beers, and spirits.

A local bottleshop that caters for all the members of the Glenbrook, Lapstone, Blaxland and Warrimoo community.

Hula Hoop from Good Land Brewing Co (Victoria) - what could possibly go wrong when unleashed in a bottleshop?! Throw in some ageing unco-ordinated team members, and, well actually the results were surprisingly less destructive than we thought! Not a single bottle was destroyed (although a few cans might have been after filming!). Trust me though, the beer is far better than our hula hoop work!

Also this week we have:
🍺 Good Land Brewing Co – 4 other beers, including the “Swear Jar” Hazy IPA which Murray was very keen to make the theme of this week’s beer photo but got advised against it…
🍺 Curly Lewis Brewing Co – tried these guys yet? We first noticed them at GABS a few years ago and they keep bringing out very good beers indeed
🍺 Timmermans Beers – all the way from Belgium, these guys have been brewing Lambic beer for over 300 years (I assume it has been different brewers, rather than just one really old dude…)
🍺 Squinters Brewing Co – we love a good local (Penrith) brewery and very much looking forward to trying their Choc-Caramel Macadamia Stout!
🍺 Capital Brewing Co. – a new Rice Lager and an IPA in colab with Seeker Brewing
🍺 Mountain Culture Beer Co – DOUBLE RED is back!! As well as new limited Sea Change, a colab with Dangerous Ales from Milton, and Air Ann (NEIPA)

Head on in this Friday night to meet Kylie, from Taylor's family wines as she showcases the Jaraman range. Now judging by how much we sell of the Taylor's Estate range - all you folk love it (ya'll bought more than 65 dozen off us in the last month!!) - time to step up to the premium and check out the Jaraman range. Look forward to seeing you from 4pm this Friday!

⏰ : 4pm to 7pm, Friday 28th March

Samuel Smith's Brewery are consistently some of our most requested beers. I know the poms often get mocked for their beer (and their cricket, and their football, and the list goes on!) but that's a bit unfair (not the cricket and football bits though, they're still valid!). The Nut Brown Ale and Chocolate Stout return to our shelves, and the Yorkshire Stingo Strong Ale is new one for us

This week’s all-star arrivals also include:
🍺 Reckless Brewing Co. XPA – voted the best Pale Ale in 2023 (Australian Beer Awards) – but this run has a twist for International Womens Day (last week) with ALL proceeds from the beer being donated to the Central West Women’s Health Centre (in Bathurst/Kelso, the home of Reckless). Great cause guys, well done to you!
🍺 Mountain Culture Beer Co – colab with Deya Brewing UK (and nope, I hadn’t previously heard of them before either!) and maybe another little treat in-store too
🍺 Flamin Galah Brewing Co – it has been a few years since we’ve had their beers in our fridges. Welcome back to a great brewery from Huskisson
🍺 Southern Highlands Brewing – also returning after a few years break (and with awesome new packaging too!)
🍺 Monkey Brewing Co – a new partnership from a UK brewery, our friends at Willie The Boatman, and Southern Highlands. Their Umami Smoked Porter is something else, and we are looking forward to see more of their beers in the coming months
🍺 The Coastal Brewing Company, Forster, Australia – always a favourite, and their Dry Irish Stout won’t disappoint
🍺 Jervis Bay Brewing Co. – Hopocalypse NEIPA is true to it’s name, a real hop bomb
🍺 And, Philter Brewing American Pale Ale!

Take a trip to South Australia and Tasmania this Friday night, without leaving the comfort of Glenbrook! Paul from Bacchus Wines is instore sampling wines from Kilikanoon (Clare Valley, SA) and Holm Oak (Tasmania). As you might expect, the Tassie Pinot, and the Clare Riesling are stand outs - but don't take my word for it, come and try for yourself!

⏰ : 4pm to 7pm, Friday 21st March
🍷 : Kilikanoon (Clare Valley) and Holm Oak (Tasmania)

Mountain Culture Beer Co have released their latest innovation - and new addition to the core range - Juice Trip. This is probably the juiciest Hazy you've ever had (and won't be for everyone), but as a lunchtime beer or thirst quencher it is sensational. We got it in store last Thursday, and has been our biggest selling beer over the last 8 days. Delicious!

Also this week we have new releases from:

🍺 Mountain Culture Beer Co – JUICE TRIP!! and their Irish Experience NEIPA just in time for St Pats Day (McCready sounds Irish enough, right??)
🍺 Hop Nation & Balter Brewing Company colab – Full Circle West Coast Pilsner – there’s been a lot of this style recently – it’s very tasty, try it if you haven’t already!
🍺 White Bay Brewery – Wotjek, their Polish Pilsner (named after the famous bear!)
🍺 Behemoth Brewing Company Australia – one of NZ’s best is back with a range of IPAs, Hazys and a Red
🍺 Bridge Road Brewers (Beechworth, Vic) – a couple of IPAs and their Mango & Dragonfruit Sour should be a hit with this warm weather
🍺 Wooden Axe Brewing Co – their BIG double IPA has “hit” (pun intended) the fridges
🍺 Sunday Road Brewing – a cheeky Sparkling Ale, a delicious West Coast, and a return of their Nitro Stout.
🍺 Black Hops Brewing – OK, so no “new” releases, but some classics that have returned, especially the dangerous Super Hornet!

Ashley (not pictured, that's Arin) has worked for Samuel Smith & Sons for over 30 years, so he sure knows his wines. And this week he is joining us in store to showcase the Wirra Wirra Scrubby Rise range, as well as their imported French wine La Vieille. Now given that the La Vieille Rose is our biggest selling Rose, you've probably all tried it - but here's your chance to try their red! See you this Friday from 4pm

⏰ : 4pm to 7pm, Friday 14th March
🍷 : Wirra Wirra Scrubby Rise (South Australian) and La Vieille (France)

Kate: "This week we've got Miss Lucie - a tea infused Blonde Ale from Antwerpse Brewery in Belgium () , and they gave us a nice poster. Should we just get Lucy to pose in the photo?"
Murray: (looking at the poster) "Hold my Blonde Ale...."

Also this week we have new beers from:
🍺 Reckless Brewing Co. – their new Blood Orange Pale Ale is a fruity delight
🍺 Mountain Culture Beer Co – 2 x new releases this week – the Hollywood Hot Sauce WCIPA (where do they get the names??) which is a big beer, but is delicious…. AND (drum roll please…..) plenty of stock of their huge new addition to their core range – Juice Trip! Can attest that it is indeed juicy, and is indeed delicious!
🍺 Akasha Brewing Company – Cross Roads IPA – right in the Akasha wheelhouse
🍺 Range Brewing – absolutely one of the best brewers in the country (Disco DDH Pale was #6 in Hottest 100) and we have a range of their IPAs as well as a Lager
🍺 One Drop Brewing Co. – a bunch of unique sours including their #10 Hottest 100 ‘We Jammin’. Surely that’s the highest place ever for a sour? A real testament to the great beers these guys keep punching out!
🍺 Your Mates Brewing Co. – a Sunshine Coast brewery which we don’t see a lot of in NSW, but the fact they scored #7 in Hottest 100 says that the beer is definitely worth checking out
🍺 Gage Roads Brew Co – their #5 ranked Hottest 100 ‘Single Fin Summer Ale’ is back in the fridge (this beer ALWAYS features in the top 10) and although the weather might not be real Summery right now, it’s worth checking out.

Wine tastings are back - football season is back - let's join the two, and invite the legendary Peter Mortimer to showcase his wares! It's been almost 40 years since Peter graced the rugby league paddock, and in this time, he's been showing some grace in his own paddocks, and producing some great wines out of his vineyards in Orange. Peter and his son Daniel grow the grapes, and send them to the legendary Robert Stein to turn them into the wines you will enjoy this Friday night.

⏰ : 4pm to 7pm, Friday 7th March

🍷 : Mortimers Wines (Orange)

🧍‍♂️: Peter Mortimer, the legend himself!

Did you guess the nursery rhyme? 1 - 2 - Buckle My Shoe is the new Hazy DIPA from our favourite Tassie brewer, Fox Friday Craft Brewery . I always liked that nursery rhyme - it's certainly much better than the 2 Live Crew misappropriation of teaching counting and rhyming! But maybe I'm just showing my age there.... Great beer though, as we've come to expect from Fox Friday!

We also have new arrivals from:
🍺 Squinters Brewing Co – a great local brewery (Penrith) with some great IPAs this week
🍺 Six String Brewing Company – they’re back! Dark Red was one of the first craft beers I ever had, and it BLEW. MY. MIND.
🍺 Fox Friday Craft Brewery – core range! Finally! Not just the fancy beer to grab as a treat, but now ones to enjoy regularly. As well as a couple of limiteds of course
🍺 Jervis Bay Brewing Co. - as the sun sets on Summer (today is the last day!) here comes the Amber Ales…
🍺 Mountain Culture Beer Co – you already know how good they are. Not much for me to add except say That’s Enough Internet NEIPA

He's back! The ever loveable James from Fisher Fine Wines is making his first appearance for 2025 to showcase his Moss Brothers range from Margaret River in WA. Ever had a Chenin Blanc? That's the beauty of our wine tastings - we've got your favourites like Shiraz, Pinot Gris, etc - but its also a great opportunity to stretch your horizons and try something a little different. You just might find your new favourite style, or maybe discover a new facourite Cab Sauv or Chardonnay.
PS. Try them all! Responsibly of course

⏰ : 4pm to 7pm, Friday 28th February (last day of Summer!)
🍷 : Moses Rock, by Moss Brothers (Margaret River)

When we told Tony he needed to re-create a famous Dan Ackroyd character this week, he was very much hoping for Elwood Blues. Little did he know the beer was Conehead by The Only Boatrocker (from Melbourne)... But he's pulled it off pretty well I reckon! A great WCIPA that is loaded with hops (and has nothing to do with what was a pretty average movie from memory).

Also this week we have new beers from:
🍺 One Drop Brewing Co. – with a bunch of colabs (Finback Brewery, Garage Project , Tripping Animals Brewing Co. ), and an “Experimental Sour”
🍺 Mountain Culture Beer Co – “That’s Enough Internet for Today” NEIPA
🍺 A bunch of great IPA variants from Five Barrel Brewing (Wollongong)
🍺 And a big welcome to Beer Fontaine from Botany who are in our stores for the first time

This week's wine tasting awaits all lovers of good quality wine! We have the Purple Hands range out of the Barossa, a stunning Rioja Blanco from Spain, one of our best selling Roses from Provence (France), and one of Tony's favourites the Colours of the South Pinot Gris (wine is not pictured, nor is Tony, that's Arin!) from Adelaide Hills. And to top it all off, it is being hosted by the perennial favourite Emily (not pictured, again, that's Arin....) who can't wait to take you through as many or as few as you would like to sample.

⏰ : 4pm to 7pm, Friday 21st February
🍷 : A selection (see above) from the Cox Family Wines portfolio
🧍‍♂️: Emily Cox - one of the absolute best in the business...

Aether Brewing is back! And their Raspberry Milkshake Sour is something that you really should try. But don't just take my word for it - stop and admire the lyrical genius of The Village People in the video - and be hypnotised by the boys dancing - "Do the shake, do the shake, do the milkshake, the milkshake, yeah" (and people reckon modern music is lacking in substance?!?!)

Also this week we have:
Hawkers Beer – a new WCIPA (Hawkers must go close to being the leading WCIPA brewer in the country!) called Brainwaves
Bacchus Brewing Co – always interesting styles and flavours from these guys
Aether Brewing – back by popular request! If Milkshake Sours aren't your bag, their Black XPA is excellent. And check out the can artwork – unreal!!
Dangerous Ales – are becoming a staple in our range, and they're a good chance for all of you who have just returned from the South Coast (Milton) to imagine you’re still on holidays!
Mountain Culture Beer Co - a NEIPA colab with Superflux (Canadian) and Pushcart Champion (NEIPA)

❤️❤️ Roses are red
So is wine
Poems are hard....
umm.....wine tasting! ❤️❤️

This week's wine tasting has a distinct Valentines Day theme - Pierre d'Amour - which translates to 'The Stone of Love'!
These are a great range of wines produced from some of the best regions in Australia, with the winemaker being inspired to create wines that go perfectly with food - ala the French way! Come in this Friday night to check them out (especially the Rose - it is "vin délicieux"!)

⏰ : 4pm to 7pm, Friday 14th February (ooh lah lah!)
🍷 : Pierre d'Amour - Sauv Blanc, Pinot Gris, Rose, Pinot Noir and Shiraz

They're back!! Our beloved Friday night wine tastings have returned for 2025! (Free of charge of course)
Now don't let Tony's attempted re-creation of ""Mount Monster"" scare you away - these wines from Morambro Creek are top notch (the medals on the bottles is always a good starting point). Come on in this Friday to try them for yourself!

⏰ : 4pm to 7pm, Friday 7th February
🍷 : Morambro Creek from Limestone Coast (South Australia) as well as one of the favourites over Christmas, the Rockridge Pinot Grigio (Adelaide Hills)
