PLANNED BURN NOTIFICATION – LITTLE MOUNTAIN - Thursday 1 August 2024 – Jill Chamberlain Bushland Reserve
Weather dependent, Sunshine Coast Council, will be conducting a hazard reduction burn on Thursday.
If conditions are not suitable the burn may be rescheduled.
When:

Details:
As a component of the Sunshine Coast Council fire management program, a section of Jill Chamberlain Bushland Reserve has been identified for a planned burn.
The aim of this burn is to reduce the volume of forest fuels before bushfire season and to maintain fire adapted ecological communities.
The burn will be conducted by council under a permit to light fire (F379189, expires 15/09/2024) issued to council by the Queensland Fire Department.
Burn area – 5 hectares.
Park Closure:
Jill Chamberlain Bushland Reserve will be closed during burn operations. For safety, please comply with signage.
Smoke:
Smoke from the fire will be closely monitored and poses a low risk of significantly impacting surrounding businesses, residents, or roadways.
Some adjacent properties and streets may experience periodic exposure to smoke during some part of the day.
Smoke will be noticed in immediate areas surrounding Jill Chamberlain Bushland Reserve, including the following roads,

• Bellvista Boulevard
• Parklands Boulevard
• Wi******er Road
• Sugarbag Road
• Ironbark Road
• Oakwood Street
• Woodroffe Steet
• Sampson Circuit
• Rosegum Street
• Pinewood Street
• Brolga Court
• Ridgewood Road
• Toolona Place
• Huntley Place
• Atherton Place
• Mon Terre Drive
• Parkview Drive
• Smoke plumes may be noticed from further afield.
As a precaution, road users are advised to drive to suit conditions, with some potential for smoke to reduce visibility.
Residents and business owners (if affected by smoke) are advised to consider closing windows and doors, utilise air-conditioning and keep respiratory medication close at hand.
Seek medical advice if you are susceptible to bushfire smoke.

Traffic advisory signage will be in place during the burn.
