✳️Want to keep in the loop?✳️
Community information sessions coming in July and August 2024 to provide details of the planned works.

Part of our Dam Improvement Program, Seqwater is planning a range of early and enabling works at Somerset Dam to support future construction on the major dam upgrade set for this site.

The early and enabling works are planned to include the removal of the existing spillway (radial) gates, replacement of eight sluice gates, and installation of a drainage curtain.

The majority of the early and enabling works are expected to commence in 2025 upon contract award and approvals.

We’re planning to host community information sessions in July and August 2024 to provide you with further details about the planned works. Keep an eye out on our Facebook and website for an update on dates and times.

Somerset Regional Council. This is a snippet taken from the Somerset Regional Council Calendar.

Somerset Dam General Store will not be holding a dawn service and encourage people to attend one of many services being held locally.

The store will also be closed on 25th April. Opening 8am, 26th April.

We got a call a little while back regarding how someone could get back to his car at O’Sheas Crossing. Their plan was to launch canoes with some kids for a little paddle session.

The weather was A little unkind on the day but they held strong and paddled for the day to Somerset Campground.

After closing up shop we shuttled their fearless leader back to O’Sheas to collect the vehicle and trailer.
Turns out these guys are from Alta-1 Caboolture Campus a little school that teaches kids a little different then Mainstream school.

Who would have thought my days of helping out young people would continue. Glad to assist you and even happier you had a great day of paddling guys. Loved receiving the photo (even if the weather was great for ducks 😉)

You might wonder what we do on Tuesdays!! We open our dining room for private functions and get the pleasure of hosting some pretty cool people like Bonnie, Dorothy, Rose, Geoffrey and Ronald (just a few of the group we had in today). We always look forward to these groups booking in. Today they got to see one of our new Frenchie puppies (1 month old in a couple of days). They loved it!
