Powers out at the post office. Wind and rain is hectic. I've had to close the front door, but I am here.
So far reports of trees down on the south end of Quilty road cutting access.

Apologies all but I'm closing 15 mins early to try and avoid driving home in this storm. Apparently hail is a very high possibility. Get your cars undercover. Batten down the hatches. Stay safe all.

The land line is back up and running 🥳🥳. After a successful 2 hour chat with Telstra the issue is finally fixed! Hooray 🎉

To whom it may concern.
Thank you to who ever changed my opening hours on the post office door for Monday to 11am 🙄. Unfortunately for me this is not the case and has caused some confusion in the valley having the hours changed with out me knowing.
In future please don't touch what is not yours.

Good morning everyone. I'm really sorry about this but the post office will only be open this morning to collect the mail delivery, then it will close again due to having nobody to staff it.
We had alot of rain last night and I was surprised this morning with a flooded bridge and my workers either have appointments or are also stranded on the wrong side of the creek. I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and I hope to be able to open this afternoon. Thank you for understanding.

Sorry for the inconvenience but the Rock Valley Post Office & Store will only be open from 4pm to 5pm today (Tuesday). I'm still currently flooded in and can only get a helper from 4-5pm.
As for tomorrow we'll have to wait and see how much more rain we get and what comes out of the hills. But I'm hoping I'll make it in.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience. I will try harder to control the weather next time 😆😅

Severe thunderstorms developing south of Kyogle.

Weather Situation: Thunderstorms are developing in moist unstable conditions north of a surface trough over far northeastern NSW.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Murwillumbah, Mullumbimby, Kyogle, Urbenville, Wiangaree and Nimbin.
