It's tasting time folks!!!!

Here's who we got lined up for you tomorrow -

In MAYLANDS:
We got a coupla wine cowboys coming through from , we've been big fans of these guys over the years and they just keep kicking goals with amazing wines from unusual areas of Margaret River that manage to produce such site specific expressions of gorgeous gorgeous juice!

They will be pouring a couple of their current hits and a NEW RELEASE!!!! 😋😍

In SUBIACO:
We have for the first time the wonderful, wines!! Who's main focus is producing a wide range of premium cool climate wine styles, showing off the wonderful array of fruit that Pemberton has to offer, while also making advances on sustainable wine practices and farming. EPIC Chardonnay and Pinot to be had!!!!

What an exciting Sunday delivery!

✨Cleopatra Wines ✨

Small batch, playful, and thoughtful, Cleopatra Wines have arrived! Made by the multitalented Rachel Signer in the Adelaide Hills also known for her book You Had Me at Pet Nat.

🥂 Pét-Nat: Fiano on skins in amphora, bottled with a mineral finish. Pair with anchovies or a fried fish burger.

🍇 Blanc: Skin fermented Sauv Blanc + Chardonnay. Citrus, texture, and minerality. Enjoy solo or with cheese.

🍷 Rouge: Pinot Gris + Gamay blend. Chillable, acid driven, with cranberries and rose petals. Perfect with pizza.

Get it while it’s hot, Maylands! 🥵🤠

Mixing it up this week with our friends down in Fremantle brewery

Running With Thieves is the largest operational independent brewery and distillery in Western Australia and produces such a top shelf range of goodies that they're excited to share with you!

Pouring some new releases and a mix of old favourites 😍 we'll also be popping open some botts too just to keep you winos happy! 😉

Happy Sataday folks!

Got some fresh stock of garage project beers in this week to go with absolute ripper weather we got goin on 🤙

This ones Big on flavour, even Bigger on Feelings!!!

Luscious white gold hazy IPA, brewed with pale malts, wheat and oats, a generous addition of Yuzu and a touch of New Zealand sea salt creating a beer with a huge citrus aroma and an outrageously juicy, quenching mouthfeel.

Big Pedro wants YOU to drink this Hungarian hunk this weekend!

A textural/skinsy white number from Peter Wetzer made with no less than four grape varietals - perhaps more..... A lengthy wild ferment before ageing in the same Hungarian barrels. Pretty special drop this one!, vines are about a century old and grow on the slopes of Ság, an extinct volcano in north Hungary. Woody spice, subtle tropical notes, apple, lemon and toffee-coated nuts from its time on oak. Minerality is a given.

Give it up for big Pedro 💪 👏

McHenry Hohnen 'Apiary Block' Chardonnay 2023

Chardonnay from the Apiary block was handpicked, whole-bunch pressed, and transferred to a 700L concrete vessel and large barrels without sulfur. It underwent wild fermentation, partial malolactic fermentation, and aged on full lees for 8 months. Moved only once before being bottled unfiltered, it received minimal sulfur.

The wine shows a complex nose with lemon curd, lemon zest, and frangipani, sitting atop a palate of white nectarine.

This will be one of the wines poured at our McHenry Hohnen Chardonnay Masterclass on Thursday, for which we still have a couple of tickets available. $30 for 9 wines, cheese, and a great chat from the chief winemaker, Japo!

Meet the side project of Forrest Hills Liam Carmody.

Lonely Shore is a homage to his Nana who is a descendant of the Bussell family and wrote a book called "The Lonely Shore" in the 70s.

This small-batch pinot noir is all about quality, with juicy black cherry, earthy vibes, and a dash of minerality. A little french oak adds the perfect touch of elegance, perfect for pairing with just about anything or sipping solo on the couch 🍇✨

TASTING ALERT!
This week we have wonderful a local winemaker from Geographe who has so modestly created absolute banging wines for crazy prices!!!
David Mazza worked in London for nine years and discovered a world of Spanish and Portuguese wines rarely seen in Australia back in the 1990’s. Research showed Donnybrook, in South West WA, to be similar in climate to the Duoro and northern Spain – so they returned home to grow the varieties they loved to drink – Tempranillo, Graciano, Touriga Nacional, Bastardo, Sousao and Tinta Cao. It was a bit of a risk not to plant any mainstream varieties – but they decided to give it a go anyway and we bloody love that!!

So come on down to Commune Subiaco 4-7pm!
