After capturing the greenkeeping team in action over the last few days, I have to say—these guys are the real MVPs! 📸👏 From pre-dawn mowing to perfecting every green, their hard work made the course flawless for LIV Golf.

Huge respect for the effort that often goes unnoticed. Your dedication truly showed! 💪🏌️‍♂️

One of my enjoyable side gigs of my career is being able to compare grass varieties and species Australia wide.

The most definitive conclusions are it’s not “one size fits all” and “horses for courses” .

Location , climate , budget , staff levels , season , usage/programming etc etc can all have a huge impact.

So whilst it’s nice to see new cultivars coming through - here’s a shout out for “good ol Wintergreen”.

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting two Wintergreen Stadiums in QLD in Suncorp and Peoples Choice .

Here they are pictured below and the quality was sublime 💪

Knucklehead here even asked Chicka at PC (from a distance albeit) “when did you do your transition to Rye?”
He’s got them stripes burnt into that couch 💪

Fantastic night at the Mount Lawley Golf Club MC'ed by Troy O'Hern , The General Manager who's drive , passion and communication to members was a key factor in this remarkable project.

Was fascinated to hear the words and perspective from golf course architect supremo in Mike Cocking from OCM Golf. The facet that grabbed me the most was his "feel" when it comes to course design . Obviously many of us can read a contour map - but quite clearly , he creates a lot of his magic on what the site "says to him" . You can't learn that in University.

Still, someone needs to get the rubber to the road and that task was left to Course Superintendent in Rod Tatt who has stamped himself as one of the premier turf managers in the country. I cannot thank him enough for his knowledge and understanding of Mineral Magic and what that has done now internationally for our business. ( oh - and what its done for his greens ! )
