To smell is to see. To taste is to know.
Happy Monday, friends and wine lovers.
Carolyn and I had jam-packed weekend of dining and dancing, birthday’s and blow-ins. Friday night was amazing Margaritas and a Mexican cooking demo. Saturday night we went to Kuba’s 40th and I had a number of pints of Thirsty Crow’s Vanilla Milk Stout (arguably Wagga’s most famous export since the Chiko Roll, and certainly its best).
Sunday lunch saw us toasting Grandma’s 81st with a couple of succulent expressions of Chardonnay (as vintage Champagne & as a 7yr old Yarra Valley still).
But the topper was the final glass of the night.
The Samuel’s Gorge web site expounds that the 2014 Mosaic of Dreams GMS has “a boisterous nose of stewed wild strawberries, a freshly oiled balustrade, mildly scented by wild fennel seeds - foraged from the roadside. Baked orange and poppy seed cake straight from the oven”
“Fine boned, silky tannins glide across the palate, dancing with the fruit in seamless fashion. This wine is elegant and graceful but with a bucket load if intrigue”
And it was full of intrigue. Luckily by the time it came out there were only 3 left drinking and so there was plenty for all that were keen. Thanks Scott. You can drop in for tea on a Sunday, anytime.
Cheers! Mike
