Say hello to local legends, Lisette from , Damian our Fitzroy Manager and Fitzroy volunteer, Carol.

Carol, an East Melbourne resident, approached Lisette about setting up a permanent donation bin at the store.

Lisette, who has owned the amazing General Store for 10 years is a big supporter of local charities, donating food and collecting goods from locals.

Together, they set up this project, collecting and emptying the donation bin every second day and delivering quality goods to the Fitzroy store!

A big thank you to Lisette and her incredible store and of course, Carol, our long-term volunteer who loves her community and also her local op shop.

Shout out to keep your eye peeled for a lost set of keys between Vale St and General Store via Simpson St.
Please drop off to East Melbourne General Store to be reunited with distressed elderly owner.

Also note we have a constant supply of found glasses, hats, umbrellas etc for claiming !

Thanks to the wonderful dedication of East Melbourne resident and Op Shop Volunteer, Carol Anne Hedley, we are able to coordinate the drop off and pickup of donations at our store.

Carol Anne writes . . "A few suggestions include old artworks/ paintings , picture frames, no longer wanted, even simple sketches and magazines. Men’s belts are particularly needed as well as Men’s and Women’s clothes, we’d love any old fashioned clothing, old Tuxedos and Jewellery as young people love to look different, yoga mats, old sports equipment, camping & general nick nacks, Suitcases, backpacks, Handbags, sewing gear, Vases, old dolls or children’s toys and books etc… including kitchen items or gardening, bedding as in Sheets, towels, Doona covers, chairs, tables any furniture no longer in use! Anything Electrical that’s still working as we have loads of students trying to set up a home, often in a new Country.
🛑 Things we can’t take are food, pillows, prams, and anything safety or hygiene sensitive such as Children’s Car seats, helmets, beds, Mattresses, etc ."
