BACKGROUND OF THE BUSINESS
Established in 1967, Telstar Bakery Pty Ltd began through three brothers: Fred, Maurice, and Mick Kadamani. Realising what was lacking in the standard Australian diet, ideas of producing bread as made in their home country roamed in their heads. They purchased fundamental machinery and with the commitment of other family members, produced the Lebanese pita bread that was

to be given to their fellow Lebanese friends within the small Arabic community of Victoria in the late 1960’s. Being the innovators of Lebanese pita bread in Victoria, the demand for this unique bread considerably grew to allow for the purchase of further ovens and associated machinery from both Lebanon and Holland. As the years grew into decades, Telstar Bakery was able to distribute its main product into the supermarket and eatery chains throughout Australia. The year 2001 saw Telstar Bakery’s successful efforts to produce authentic Lebanese sweet and savoury pastries. These products are manufactured in the retail division and have added emphasis to Telstar Bakery’s reputation as a company that produces fine Lebanese cuisine.
