Entertain smarter, not harder. ⁠

For this weekend's Cellar Drop, Geelong store leader and master-host Conor, is sharing his picks for summer that hit hard in the taste and taste-maker departments.⁠

Starting off strong, he's going for Domaine Rolet's Crémant. Made in the same way as Champagne—without the champers price tag—it's rich and creamy, with a fresh snap of green apple on the finish. ⁠

And for such a great choice, Conor deserves his flowers. Enter: Vouvray. Lifted and floral with a moreish sweep of honey and apple before being tied neatly together with some lovely texture. Serve it with a generous wheel of Brie and you'll have your friends talking about your hosting skills for months to come.⁠

Alongside our friend and importer of this special yuzushu, Russell Clark, we're hosting a series of tastings in select stores over the coming weekends.⁠

It's an absolute scorcher today so for this weekend's Cellar Drop, the Lygon St team in East Brunswick are heading straight to their fridges.⁠

First up is the 2023 Riesling from our mate Jean-Paul Trijsburg. Victorian grown, but throwing off some German rizz vibes—you'll get a bunch of lovely apricot and spice aromatics, balanced by a long dry mineral acidity; the perfect thirst quencher⁠

Next, the outstanding 2023 Bonnet Huteau Dabinieres Muscadet. Classics are classics for a reason, and this Blackhearts staple always delivers the goods, with its fresh, mineral, saline drive wrapped in a pleasing textural body, what more could you ask for?⁠

We suggest a trip to your local's fridge and nabbing a bottle of each for yourselves and opening them somewhere shady with your shoes off.
