MASTERCLASS - Brunello di Montalcino 2018 and 2019 Blind Masterclass 🇮🇹🍷⭐️

Love Brunello? You need to book this now! We have a few tickets left for what should be a brilliant eye-opening deep dive into one of Italy’s... Actually, one of the world’s greatest red wines.

We’ve gathered together a few benchmarks like:
Fuligni
Conti Costanti
San Filippo,

Baricci... and as many others as we can cram into the mix.

But that’s not all - no steak knives BUT prior to the Brunello bracket we’ll do a little brack of our favourite Rosso di Montalcino from the 2022 vintage, again a stellar year in Montalcino.

NOVEMBER INTRO WINE COURSE - It’s your last chance to book a spot on our iconic Introductory Wine Course before the end of 2024. Kick start your wine skills in a fun, but informative environment, lead by our team of experienced wine professionals.

While the course covers topics such as wine history, wine making, great wine regions of the world and the buying and storing of wine, a ‘hands on’ approach remains the primary focus of the course syllabus, with significant time spent tasting and discussing wine from all corners of the globe!

An Evening with COLLETTE DINNIGAN. Here’s something a bit different for us! The Launch of Collette’s new book - Bellissima

Obviously, Collette is most well known for being one Australia’s greatest ever fashion designers, but perhaps less well known is her lifelong passion for food, wine, interiors and...Italy. As the PR folk describe it:

In a very rare departure from hosting events solely devoted to wine, Prince Wine Store is delighted to play host to Collette Dinnigan for the Melbourne launch of her new book: Bellissima- An Australia Italian Affair.

Collette not only takes us into her own private worlds but also those of her friends such as Mimi Thorisson in Turin, Neil Perry in Sydney, and Louise Olsen and Luke Sciberras in country NSW, where they share their recipes and art.

This is a one-off opportunity to hear first-hand from Collette about the passions that drove her to produce Bellissima alongside PWS-chosen Italian wines and a little food from the Bellota kitchen. It’s a standup affair co-hosted by Imogen Banks, film producer and long-time friend of Collette.

Tickets are limited so please be quick if you wish to secure your place. The ticket price includes a copy of Bellissima (RRP $75) and Collette has hand made 70 candles for attendees only.

EPIC NIGHT - Thank you to everyone who attended last night’s incredible Guigal dinner. The wines once again proved their world class status and the La Las are without question (especially these 2020s) some of the finest bottlings that France has to offer. Benchmarks for any serious Shiraz/Syrah lover, with all the intricacy and terroir focus that you would expect from the very top Burgundies. If you missed it, start making plans for next year.

Mac Forbes cut his vinous teeth at Mount Mary before heading overseas in 2002 to make wine in Portugal and Austria. He brought a wealth of experience and a modern and clean approach to winemaking that produces incredibly transparent wines with wonderful site expression.

Mac has kindly offered his services once again to take us through his latest set of sub-regional pinot noir and chardonnay from the much-lauded 2023 vintage. He has also kindly thrown into the mix a selection of back vintage wines to have a look at the trajectory of this eponymous estate over the preceding decade. As is always the case this will be a fascinating opportunity to have a conversation with one of the country’s most talented and thoughtful winemakers.

BURGUNDY 2022 SHOWCASE

2022 is an amazingly consistent vintage. I tasted almost no poor wines. Everything was good to very good, with occasional touches of greatness. JASPER MORRIS, Inside Burgundy

What will time tell from a vintage like 2022 in Burgundy? It’s hard to say at this early stage now but one thing is for sure: in our minds, we are loving what we see.

From top to bottom of the food chain there is so much to enjoy from the vintage and with smarter winemaking and grape growing becoming the norm we have been blessed with a raft of beautifully drinking Burgundy to enjoy.

So, with all this great wine coming across our desk and hitting our shores we thought it best to pick some of our favourite producers and wines from 2022, gather them up, and get you all along to see the lay of the land.
