The moment has arrived- we now have Gluten Free beer on tap! Kicking it off this weekend is the super smashable Mexican Cerveza limited release and all going well we’ll keep rolling out GF beers on this tap permanently!

Big props to N&F Run Club mainstay Trent who put in an intense campaign lobbying for GF beer on tap! So everyone get around our man and help him drink this keg so we can ensure there’s always pints on hand for our GF brethren! 🍻

And what better time to give it a try then after a 5km with Trent at Run Club! 6.30pm start every Thursday from N&F, then half price beers after (and a Pool Comp too 🎱)

Run Club is back this Thursday after a short Xmas hiatus! Join us at Near & Far 6.30pm every Thursday for a leisurely 5km trot on our trademark Fitzroy Bin Chicken or Carlton Star & Bra running routes. Then replenish with half price beers for all runners at the bar afterwards- that’s a win/win in any language!🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🍻

All these mouthwatering treats will be available to order from 1pm into the evening on Saturday & Sunday alongside our always extensive range of beer, vino & cocktails so come on down Brunswick Street and treat yourself!

Treat yourself with Spiced Fried Chicken on a crispy Potato Rosti, topped with Capsicum Ketchup and Spring Onion curls. I gotta say it’s the perfect snack alongside a cold beer in this balmy festive season!

The big bulls from are coming to the big smoke next Friday to celebrate their 25th Birthday with us! To mark this monumental occasion they’ll be bringing some exciting special and collab brews to pour across 6 of our taps.

And you’ll be the ones getting all the birthday presents with merch and beer giveaways along with a chance to hang with the Brewers and Owners of Holgate who’ve made this quarter of a century of fantastic beer a reality!

Our new Chef Ferdie in .fitzroy next door will also be in full swing with tasty food specials to pair with your beers so you settle in for the night and try the full range!

Our latest project SIDEKICK FOOD & WINE is now open next door just in time for the Fitzroy Spring evenings! ☀️ With over 20 Rotating wines by the glass from independent wine makers and some unassumingly delightful food to go with, you will never want to leave this pocket of Brunswick Street again...

Our new Evening Food Menu by Chef Ferdie Fraser launches tonight, featuring these highlights in order of appearance:

- House made pressed hash brown topped with a mega rich whipped pecorino, habanero sauce and dill pickles: naughty.

- Fluffy semolina flatbreads lathered in slow braised beef cheek that’s been sauced to the nines, xo mayo and a little pickle-y zucchini salad. Whipped feta and braised shallot alternative also available as a vego option.

- Fish tacos! Highly non traditional and served with green nahm Jim, spicy Shrimpy mayo and some lovely pickled radishes

Plenty more small plates and snacks available and specials will be coming regularly to keep things spicy!

Open Thursday - Saturday 4pm - Late, right through the warmer months so come check it out!

Every Oktober we take you to Helles & Back to unleash our Bavarian side, and this year is no different! From tomorrow our bar becomes a beer hall and our taps dominated by traditional German styles with 10 Oktoberfest brews pouring.

We kick off on Thursday night and beers will be flowing into proper steins all weekend and we’ve got food specials to keep you going from our Sidekick Food & Wine mates next door.

Check out our new Sidekick! We’re taking our Food & Wine game up a notch in our old bottleshop space next door, with Sidekick Sandwiches slinging their tasty wares from 11.30am Wednesday-Sunday including this killer Fish Finger sanga on a milk bun.

And come the evening Sidekick switches into full Wine Bar mode with a carefully curated list of wines by the glass, and our new chef’s small plate menu launching next week.

Plus we’ve still got our ridiculously large selection of craft beers and wines by the bottle, and a sneaky good cocktail list too. Literally something for everyone!

Six weeks ago we ventured up into the mighty Blue Mountains to with to brew the collab beer of our dreams! Now the time has come to enjoy the fruits of this trip as we launch their epic new Cloudy IPA this Thursday night.
