This 17-year-old Benrinnes, finished in Pedro Ximénez octave casks, is everything we love about bold, sherried whisky—dark fruits, roasted nuts, chocolate, and warming spice.

What happens when Scotland’s Bladnoch Distillery meets Australia’s most passionate whisky fans? An unforgettable tour led by none other than Master Distiller Nick Savage himself.

Bladnoch, a Lowlands gem with over 200 years of history, is world-renowned for crafting elegant single malts that collectors and connoisseurs can’t resist. We were lucky enough to host Nick for an exclusive Barrel & Batch tour across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

Here’s what went down:
🥃 Sydney – Burrow Bar: An intimate, sold-out evening featuring six stunning Bladnoch whiskies, including our exclusive 16-year-old single cask. Nick shared stories, insights, and laughs while guests enjoyed perfectly paired dishes.

Buffalo Trace Distillery, the most awarded distillery in the world, is a legend among bourbon lovers. Here in Australia, we’re fortunate to have a steady supply, as the flagship Buffalo Trace bottle is hard to find even in the distillery’s hometown. Every October, BTD releases their highly sought-after Antique Collection, and six months later, we see them trickle onto our shelves. The dream is to find the whole family: George T. Stagg, Sazerac 18, William Larue Weller, Eagle Rare 17, and Thomas H. Handy. Here for a story, huh? Well, can’t disappoint a customer.

When the world went into lockdown, hospitality was struggling. The future was uncertain. Hairydog knew venues were in trouble and wanted to help.

It started with a buyback program with Paramount Liquor - buying unsellable stock from their customers via credits and refunds to put cash flow back into the hands of businesses hit hard. It became a network of suppliers and venues supporting each other, and looking to pivot.

We looked at the online alcohol market, saw people drinking at home instead of pubs and bars, and we thought, “There’s something missing here.” Sure, people missed the booze of a night out - but what they really missed was the experience. Asking the bartender for their recommendation, trying new things, enjoying professionally made cocktails, or the house special of their favourite venue.
