On the 8th day of Chanukah (yesterday) my true love gave to me: 3 potato latkes, 2 slices of gravlax and 1 dirty g&t! Essentially a dirty martini but topped up with tonic for a longer, less boozy and more refreshing version of the classic; made with our Sub-urban gin and pickle brine which pairs so beautiful with the dilly cured salmon. 🍸

Hope there's not too many sore heads today? We're having some down time in Jan whilst Ivanhoe is quiet and then will be busy at the distillery so we can re-open with full shelves on the 5th Feb!

A simple G&T on a hot day really hits the spot!If you're not sure what to garnish your chosen gin with, our tip is to select one of it's featured botanicals, so you're accentuating a flavour it already contains, rather than adding a whole new profile. Tonic wise, we're big fans of the dryer/less sweet styles to make that gin really sing. If that's not what you have on hand try a "Sonic" made with half sparkling water or soda to tonic! We're open till 5pm today for you to stock up on gin and tonic!🥒🍎

Although we've sold out of our Brandy Custard Liqueur for the season, here's some recipe inspo for you to finish off your bottle or for next year's Chrissie spread! .oven urged us to try it in Tiramisu (based off the Bailey's version by ) and wow it did not disappoint! Also based on a Bailey's recipe ( by ) .gin.lounge whipped up this epic cheesecake! What to bring when you're told not to bring a thing? Bree's Brandy Custard Balls, of course! Our lovely friend Bree has kindly shared her recipe - simply combine:2 cups crushed chocolate ripple biccies
1 can of coconut condensed milk
1/2 cup of almond meal
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 + 1/4 cup desiccated coconut (plus extra for coating)
1/4 cup of Brandy Custard Liqueur
Refrigerate for half an hour or so, until firm enough to roll into balls, coat in extra coconut and enjoy!

Last min catch up or boozy needs? We'll be open everyday between now and New Year's Eve except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day! Then we'll be closed during Jan for a battery recharge, re-opening at the beginning of Feb as schools return.

On Wednesday we had our last Books + Bevvies for the year and it was a full house with lots of festive cheer! Sadly we forget to snap a pic until the end of the night but if you're interested in joining us please get in touch - if demand continues, we'll expand to a second sesh a month.
