Two new wines from that are as pure and well made as you could possibly hope for.

The evolution of Monique Millton and Tim Webber's Forest Range domaine is on full display with these, the 2022 Forest White and 2023 Farm Rosato.

These are chiselled, instant classics and a very happy chapter of sensitive Australian agriculture.

LIMUS NEW RELEASE LUNCH 16/2/25

Hi folks,

The team at Public is delighted to announce that on Sunday the 16/2 we'll be joined by Kyatt Dixon of in Mt Gambier for the release of 5 of he and partner Anna's new wines.

We've loved these wines since tasting Kyatt's first barrel of Adelaide Hills sauvignon blanc several years ago and today Limus is at the forefront of organic, artisanal wine growing in the particularly exciting region of Mt Gambier.

The wines are farmed on a mix of limestone and volcanic soils, are picked with depth and flavour in mind and all carry the thumbprint of winemakers with an innate feel and understanding of fermentation.

Kyatt will be on the floor at Public from 1-4pm on Sunday the 16/2 to discuss and pour the new wines, which will include 5 new releases plus the now sold out (and outrageously high quality) 2023 Sparkling Rose, all by the glass.

The 5 new wines are largely from the pristine and fine 2023 harvest and include the new Talbot Rosé, Tidal Red, Twilight white blend, a new cuvee called Cherry Red and even a new Coonawarra chardonnay (we can't wait).

We're delighted to let you know that the team at Public is growing and we're currently seeking applications for an additional Front of House staff member on a part-time (soon to be full time) basis.

If you've had a few years working with organically farmed, artisanal wines in a busy bistro environment then we'd love to hear from you.

We can hardly wait for this!!

Please join us on New Years Eve for a sweet little day party starring cheeseburgers, oysters, and a river of sparkling wine.

We'll be open from midday to 5pm and the fridges will be full of ripper bottles for you to take home for the evening.

Bookings are available from the website and we'll of course have space for walk-ins.

We were very, very excited to receive a small order of the rare and now internationally sold out Springbank Local Barley Single Malt this week.

Made with barley from Glencraigs Farm in Campbelltown (just up the road from Springbank) this was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2022.

Available for a short time to drink in house or take away.

NYE and Christmas hours at Public.

Hi folks!

The team at Public is delighted to announce that we'll once again be opening on New Years Eve from midday to 5pm.

This year, will be cooking verrry celebratory cheese burgers for the day and we'll of course be serving oysters and a full on ocean of sparkling wine.

The shop will be open for take aways as usual and we're really looking forward to sharing a glass with you and saying cheers.

Then, our hours over the holiday will be:

Mon 23/12 - open as usual from 4pm
Tues 24/12 - open for retail and wines by the glass 11am-5pm
Wed 25/12 - Mon 30/12 - closed
Tues 31/12 - open midday - 5pm
Wed 1/1 - Fri 3/1 - closed
Sat 4/1 - open as usual from midday

A choice little flatbread made with the wonderfully nutty spelt from , topped with wakame, straciatella, lightly pickled zucchini and Olasagasti anchovy.

Triangoli filled to the brim with nettle, sugar snap peas and ricotta, served with brown butter and cashew cream.

Three really exceptional new wines from James and Sophie at .

All from 2023, these are a suite of wonderfully vinified bottlings from three separate sites in McLaren Vale.

'Somewhere on Another Hill' is nicely textural and crystalline sauvignon - varietal and delicious.

'Lulu', 100% chenin blanc, has seen just enough oxygen to allow site and sinew to show, yet still with great mid palate volume.

And then 'Ralph's' is arguably our favourite ever red wine from James and Sophie. This is unirrigated grenache and the final wine is distinguished by its finesse and delicacy of structure and its sheer, striking purity.

We're very excited about these!

Four really wonderful new wines from Anna and Kyatt at .

These are mix of home vineyard fruit in Mt Gambier and also biodynamic fruit from Cape Jaffa and are all thrilling in precision and expressiveness.

There's a couple of new styles for the domaine here - a phenolic semillon and a very, very high quality direct press and crystalline pinot gris.

Kyatt delivered these earlier today and straight in to the fridge they went!

We're really excited about this.

We tasted a tank sample of the 2024 Moon Marsanne back in August and are thrilled to let you know it's now in stock and will also be by the glass in the coming days.

From the highly regarded and certified Biodynamic Moon Vineyard on the banks of the Goulbourn River in Nagambie, this is simply an excellent Victorian white wine.

Full of rich phenolic matter and restrained, varietal fruit character, we're really very happy to offer a wine from from a Victorian vineyard farmed with so much intent that's been fully certified Biodynamic since 2012.

This is going to be a great, great delight over spring and summer and will also be a seriously good proposition for the cellar if you fancy popping a few bottles down.

TROY WHEELER COMES TO PUBLIC!!

Hi friends. Public has turned 3 this year so we're having a BBQ on Sunday 13/10 and one of the most loved people in our industry, Troy Wheeler (), is coming to cook.

Needing little introduction, Troy is a highly distinguished butcher, the co-owner of and a recently published author.

This is going to be an outrageous day. Troy will be setting up his custom built grill from and cooking over the coals in the courtyard so you can very readily expect dishes that we've never cooked before at Public.

If items like smoked lardo on toast, lampredotto, charcoal chicken and STEAK sound like a good time, bookings can be via the website or the link in the bio.

This will be an a la carte menu so you can really settle in and have seconds if you're in the mood.

We'll of course be pouring some very nice wine from magnum over the day and popping a few releases from the cellar in the fridge. It really is promising to be a great, great day for wine.

Records for the day will be selected by our long time collaborators Ari and Billy-Jean and team from Fitzroy's very fine who have contributed so much to Public over the last few years.

We're very, very excited about this - join us for will be an especially glorious Spring party.

Please join us on Wednesday the 28/9/22 for a very, very special tasting and discussion as we sit down and taste the wines of South Styrian farming legends Eva and Karl Schnabel. Through their inspirational farming and staggeringly deep and pure wines, Eva and Karl have a developed a reputation over the last decade as some of the most forward thinking perfectionists in the world of biodynamic wine growing. From their 5 hectares of vines on the rocky Sausal mountain, they farm riesling, chardonnay, pinot noir, bläufranckisch and zweigelt the the resulting wines are some of the most deep, soulful and profound wines we know of. . We’ll be tasting 10 wines through four different vintages and a range of styles - this promises to be a pretty amazing night. .
