Wear it Purple Day is this Friday! It’s a day for us to all stand in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ youth, celebrate their diversity and support them to live their lives as their authentic selves.

Now more than ever, we need to show our rainbow young people that we support them.

‘Moms for Liberty’ are an anti-LGBTQIA+ lobby group growing rapidly in the United States. They’re calling for LGBTQIA+ youth to be placed in separate classrooms “like children with autism or Down’s Syndrome”.

These views are not only absurd, they’re dangerous. Rainbow young people experience bullying, social isolation and mental health issues at much higher rates. They don’t need this. So let’s all get behind Wear It Purple Day this year and show some love and support for our LGBTQIA+ youth!

Wear It Purple is a volunteer and youth led not-for-profit organisation working towards raising awareness for young LGBTQIA+ communities.
