Good Morning Good Folk
It’s a Beautiful morning up here in the hills, & a great day to be alive.🎉🙏🇦🇺🙌
Happy long weekend to ya all 🇦🇺🇦🇺
The Jingellic General Store will be open
From 7 am until 7 pm this weekend, Monday included.
Chefs kitchen is open All Day.
As January gallops along, it too, has presented an array of characters & entertainment.
Jingellic is good for that, & Never a dull moment, l say !!! 🥰🇦🇺🎉
I’m still mounting wombats, maiming skippys, & finding pot holes. 🤦‍♀️
We’ve worms, (diced chicken) ice, gas, & our shelves are stocked.
We’ve added omelettes to the menu, hot dogs unloaded, loaded, the usual hamburgers, chicken burgers, fish burgers, fresh salad sandwiches, villi pies, our fish n chips menu, & our freezer has our home made frozen meals, & soups. My favourite of the week is the Chefs own Arancini balls. Mmmmm

Good Morning Good Folk of The Upper Murray …
It’s a great Day to be Alive 😘🙌👍🥰
The Snowy Valleys are not so Snowy,
But Hot, & in need of the Rains.
Plenty fish being caught & plenty swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding & rafting. The fridge is full of lamb, & Deer.
“The General” Store may have some slight interruptions to the electricity, as we are upgrading the lighting & upsizing the kitchen facilities 😍😜🤞
Can’t wait to BAKE
Just a reminder we open at 7 am Monday to Friday, and 9 am Saturday & Sunday.
Our menu is changing again, however the favourites stay.
My son Dylan turned 24 last Sunday & we celebrated with a Roast, & Movies, as he’s not had a drink since New years Eve.
Thursday night, Dylan & l put Ebony on a plane to Africa to finish off her University GAP year. She will travel through 22 countries on an overland truck for 7 months. Eeeeeeekkkkk 🤔🫨 😬🥴🤐🌍
I’ll be following the ways & counting the days. Come March, Dylan will be back to University for his last year of Pharmaceutical Science.🧬
I will Miss them both like crazy. 🤪 🥹🥴
It’s looking like No rest For the Empty Nest !! What was l thinking 🤦‍♀️
Last year, my road kill was 2 wombats, 2 kangaroos, a twisted ankle in a storm water drain!
I’m hoping 2025 can be less kill, & more Love. ❤️ Or More thrill & less shove.

Merry Xmas to all 🎄
“The General” will be closed Xmas Day,
& Boxing Day. We reopen at 7am Friday 27th, trading 7 days a week, as per usual.
We hope your season is happy, coz as we all know, it’s not what’s under the tree that counts, but who’s around it.
We are so grateful to the community for embracing us and our business. A HUGE heartfelt THANK YOU 🙏 ❤️🎄🙌
Our teething period has been made difficult by a few deaths, broken sewerage system, antiquated computer system, followed by air conditioners. RIP.
On the bright side we’ve managed to update, upgrade, fix the sewerage, acquire a new water tank, new air conditioner, & we’ve a stove 🎉🎉🎉& Bigger flat top ready to install 😅😅
Can’t wait to BAKE 🥰😋😋

Good Afternoon Good Folk of
The Snowy Valley /Upper Murray.
37 Celsius Here in The Hills Today !
How time flies, weeks wither away & months feel like moments !
As most know, our Summer opening hours are 7 am until 4 pm Monday to Friday, 8.30 - 3pm ish Saturdays, &
Sunday 9 -3 pm ish.
Booze buses are out today.
It’s the Silly Season for some, & year round for others 🤣🤣🤣
I found the unmarked storm water drain on the way home from the pub, dark n no street lights. 🤣🤣🤦‍♀️ The crutches are gone, however my ankle still swells.
Glad to know I’m not the first ! 🤣😝
Meanwhile my brother did “ The Hunt 1000” with his new hip, 🤦‍♀️cycling from
Canberra to Melbourne across the snowy valley. Up on the hills of Mt Hotham, he too, did his ankle in. Top effort though! Rough terrain !
On the homefront our take away frozen meals are a hit, our menu is extended again, there’s never enough hours in the day, & lm delighted to have had lots of family come stay.
Our sewage got fixed for a fortune, 🤦‍♀️my car smashed another wombat !, l lost another legend to cancer, & the tragedy of Bianca Jones & Holly Bowles in Laos hit home hard as Bianca attended my daughters school. 😢😢💔
A lesson to behold as Ebony is about to embark on the continent of Africa travelling 22 countries over 7 months !!
Before the rains, we had to get a new water tank, painted the old pub tables, & created a cactus garden.
Thursdays is always my favourite day because “The sketch class” come in.
They’re such fun l call them the “sketchies” 🤣🤣❤️
The cows finished calving, the bails are being bundled, & the fish are thriving to be caught. The rains have kept our mountains green, & the rivers rapid.
For a little town, lots seem to happen.
I’m asked often, how l like it here.
I can only think, it’s like living in a painting, & working on a movie set!
Coz ya never know what, or who, the day brings!!! ❤️

However, ….For Today, …. Our kitchen shuts at 1.30 & shop at 2 pm 🕑 as we have legal appointments in Albury to attend.

The Brisbane Lions (Fitzroy) clearly deserved the win !
Congratulations to the winners & supporters.
It’s the day after the night before, (in true Aussie Fashion ) 😝😝😝& we opened very early this morning to service the Hangovers.
The lambs Fry has been a hit.
This past fortnight I’ve been blessed to have my travelling cousins visit, my brother, his gorgeous wife & son, & my other cousins from Holbrook. Scanlon’s everywhere 😝😎🤣😍🙌🤪 🍻🍷

Sunny All Day with a High of 21c for our Grand final Footy Day 🏉!!! Swans Versus Brisbane. Australia’s Super Bowl day !!
I’m Gonna have to barrack for the Swans today 🤪 as they ( originally South Melbourne) were my fathers’ Footy Team !
Whoever wins, Wins, as we’ll all be drunk anyways, in the true Aussie Fashion 😝🤣🤣
Today, we launch our Spring Menu.
We’ve added Bircher Muesli, in poached Pear with fruit Compote topped with Yoghurt. By request our Lambs Fry & Bacon in a red wine & brown onion gravy is back. We’ve added Vegetarian Burgers, Fish Burgers, Cajun Chicken Burgers, Beetroot & Quinoa Burgers & Bangers n Mash are back on the Menu. We still have the usual Brekkies, Fried Foods, the Best chips & our Take Away frozen meal freezer is stocked. The most popular being the Beef n Mushroom, & Kettles Thai Chicken Curry. Our homemade Soups range from $6 to $7.50.
Anyhoo it’s been a busy week with our new computer system!
I’ve been blessed with cousins visiting, friends l met in Cambodia, My brother & family, & last night my other cousins from Holbrook arrived. I’ve lost a few brain cells this week, however, l laughed a lot.
