6 December 2024 was our 6th anniversary as The Bottle Kids. We are super excited to announce that this year we hit the 6 digit milestone – we've now collected 100,000 bottles! BUT, we calculated we hit that back in April, so to date WE'VE NOW COLLECTED 107,654 BOTTLES!

We'd like to say a huge thank you to every individual, family, event and business we have collected bottles from. With your help we have also been able to donate $600 to 9 charities!

🤦🏻‍♀️😔🙅🏻‍♂️To the person who stole this load, you have really disappointed us and our donor who saved so hard for so long to donate these bottles and cans to us.

We’ve had other loads stolen before but not this big and brazen. Our donors put this load out for us to collect and before we got there someone went through a front fence to take these 16 bags that were against the house, not out near the street. This happened while our donors were home. Not only is this stealing, it’s trespassing.

We know that people do it tough, we know from personal experience, but this isn’t ok. There are many support services available which can help with food, clothes, paying utility bills and other financial help. Contact a local charity such as Vinnies Australia to find out what’s available.

Please don’t steal!

🔴🟡🟢🟣 Lid lost its bottle? Send it to Lids4Kids Australia for recycling. After we finished making our Lori the Lorikeet bottle cap artwork we had some left over lids, and over time we’ve accumulated some more.

⚠️ WE’RE NO LONGER ACCEPTING LOOSE LIDS BUT LIDS4KIDS ARE. Lids are sorted by colour and polymer, then shredded, melted and shaped into 100% recycled and recyclable items. During the holidays we met the lovely Mary in Campbelltown and handed over our lids to join her shed load! Thanks to the following for also contributing lids:

We had the best day! ⚫️🟡🔴 Our Ferry was named after Bungaree, who we learnt was the first Australian to circumnavigate the continent. A joker and a mimic, in his later life he dressed in a red military jacket, tattered trousers and a cocked hat. 🎉 Congratulations to Vicki Golding Art who designed our Ferry artwork, we definitely won Best Dressed.
