We will be closed this Tuesday the 5th of November for Melbourne Cup Day! As usual we won't be sending or receiving any mail and newspapers can be collected from the supermarket or service stations.

Our peak Christmas period is nearly upon us so we wanted to use this time to reinforce some rules we have;

- We will no longer be looking for parcels for you when you ring us over the phone.

If you are looking for or expecting a parcel, please wait for either the Physical Card or Digital Notification that it is awaiting collection here. You can also use the AusPost Mobile App or Website to track your parcels.

Check out the AusPost Mobile App here: https://auspost.com.au/about-us/about-our-site/australia-post-app

If you are still concerned that there is something here, you can visit us in-store or contact AusPost Help & Support through the app, website or via 13 13 18

- We are also still not checking your PO Box for you. You will need to retrieve or purchase a key to check inside your PO Box.

These time saving measures help us to better serve the rest of our customers and reduce our queue time especially during the busy Christmas period.

Thankyou for your support and understanding!

Hi all

We will be CLOSED this Monday the 10th of June with no mail in or out of Heathcote for the public holiday. We will be open tomorrow, Saturday the 8th of June as well as Tuesday the 11th of June as normal.

In other news, there is a petition pushing for a national AusPost run public bank. We encourage signing it, as it would help ensure the long-term viability for physical outlets to provide both local mail and banking services, in rural areas in particular. You can find the petition at: https://info.citizensparty.org.au/auspost-bank-petition

Due on the 1st of July, AusPost are increasing the prices of Domestic Parcels & Express Letters, International Items as well as other mail services like Re-Directions and Unaddressed Mail.

MyPost Business customers, however, are getting an increase on their discount for extra cover. We recommend signing up to MyPost Business for anyone who sends parcels regularly, to access discounts based on your sending volume. There are no additional costs and no requirement for an ABN.

More information on the pricing changes can be found at https://auspost.com.au/disruptions-and-updates/pricing-updates/apr-letter-pricing-update

Passports are changing as well, there will be an increase of prices on July 1st as well as a new "Fast Track" service which enables faster processing of passports for a lower additional cost than the pre-existing Priority service.

More information is available at https://www.passports.gov.au/news/new-fast-track-processing-service

We now have Financial Year Diaries available for sale in A4 and A5 sizes, Week to a Page or Day to a Page, as well as a variety of cover styles.

Australia Post have continued to reduce their products and services; discontinuing their AusPost Mobile & Broadband services, PO Box Rewards Program, as well as some bulk envelope and packaging products.

We hope everyone has a happy and safe long weekend!

We will be CLOSED this Thursday the 25th for Anzac Day, and reopening again on Friday.

Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday the 12th of May, we have stocked up on a lot of items from the Mother's Day catalogue. Check it out in-store!

Most of our PO Box holders have now paid for their renewal, but if you haven't yet please let us know if you are wanting to keep it or not. You lose the lease on the box on the 1st of May if it is left unpaid.

We have had our new Point of Sale terminals for 2 weeks now, and everything has been running more or less smoothly, but we are still getting used to a few things. This will get better over time, thankyou for your patience!

You may have also seen some news surrounding every second day delivery of letters starting from Monday the 15th of April. This has not yet been implemented, but government regulations are now allowing it to be.

This should be progressively implemented over the next few years.

We don't know if or when that might come to Heathcote.

This should reduce costs for AusPost who continue to lose a lot of money providing the letter delivery service. The average household only receives 2 letters a week, which is expected to halve within 5 years

Importantly, parcels, express post letters and deliveries to PO Boxes continue to be delivered every business day.

01/04/2024

The winner of our Pay on Time PO Box Raffle is PO Box 859! Congratulations on winning a $100 Gift Card by Mastercard, and thankyou for paying on time!

For everyone else, PO Boxes are now overdue if unpaid. Please pay ASAP to avoid your box being blocked on the 15th of April.

Tomorrow - Wednesday the 3rd of April, the basic stamp price rises to $1.50. Please ensure your postage is correct before posting

Lastly we will closing off our Post Office terminals early on Monday the 8th of April. In anticipation of installing new terminals, the current ones will be unavailable from 4:30pm on Monday. We will still be able to lodge prepaid parcels, deliver parcels and make sales at the newsagency counter.

For other Post Office services like Parcel Assessment, Bank@Post, Post BillPay, Western Union etc please come in earlier than 4:30. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We have a LOT of changes coming up over the next two weeks including brand new computers! Read on to learn more.

Firstly, PO Boxes are due for renewal on the 31st of March. Please keep in mind that this is on Easter Sunday, so if you want to pay in-store then the last day will either be Thursday the 28th or Saturday the 30th of March.

Paying on time gives private PO Box holders a $5 discount, it also gets you in the running to win a $100 Gift Card by Mastercard. Only those who have paid on time will have a chance to win the gift card.

If you intend not to renew your PO Box, please let us know!

You can pay online at https://auspost.com.au/mypost/pobox/renew/

We will be CLOSED this Friday the 29th of March and Monday the 1st of April for the Easter Long Weekend. There won't be any mail sent or received on these days.

We will however, be OPEN on Easter Saturday until 12pm as normal.

Following Easter, the basic stamp rate will rise to $1.50 on Wednesday the 3rd of April. We will have 30c stamps on hand to add to any leftover $1.20 stamps you may have.

Concession and Seasonal Greeting Card prices remain the same however at 60 and 65 cents respectively.

More information is available at:
https://auspost.com.au/disruptions-and-updates/pricing-updates/bpr-letter-pricing-update

Lastly and most importantly, from Tuesday the 9th of April, we will have a brand new Point of Sale system for our 3 Post Office Terminals.

While much will remain the same or similar, there may be some changes to work through as we all get used to the new system, so please bare with us if our service isn't as seamless as you are accustomed to!

Australia Post has lodged a draft notification with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), seeking an increase in the Basic Postage Rate (BPR) from $1.10 to $1.20. We’re proposing for these changes to take effect from January 2023.

07/03/2024

We will be CLOSED this Monday the 11th of March for the Labour Day Public Holiday. There will be no mail on this day.

PO Boxes are also due at the end of this month. In addition to a $5 pay on time discount for privately owned boxes, we will also be running our annual promotion to give a $100 MasterCard Gift Card to a random box holder who has paid on time by the 31st of March.

It pays to pay on time!

To pay, see us in-store or pay online at https://auspost.com.au/mypost/pobox/renew/ #/search

Please also be aware that the basic stamp postage rate is increasing from $1.20 to $1.50 on the 3rd of April.

Concession and Seasonal Greeting Card Stamp prices will remain the same at 60 and 65 cents respectively.

Hello all,

We are receiving far too many requests to check PO Boxes for our customers when they are consistently forgotting to bring their keys or are just not wanting to walk up to the boxes.

This has a number of issues including ensuring only the right people are allowed to collect and also delaying us from serving customers and sorting mail.

Please note, from tomorrow Wednesday the 7th of February, we will no longer be checking PO Boxes on your behalf, please bring your key so you can retrieve your mail.

If you will be away, and/or you want someone else to check it for you, please provide them your key so there is no dispute over who is authorised to collect your mail.

If you have lost your keys or require additional, please order your required quantity with us.

You may also order a new lock if you are worried about the wrong people accessing your box.

The only circumstances where we will check your mail is if you are waiting on a new key that you have ordered from us, or you have a physical disability, impairment or injury which prevents you from being able to yourself.

In all other circumstances, you will have to organise collection with a key.

Thankyou,

Heathcote Post Office

Welcome to 2024!

To start, we will be closed on Friday the 26th of January for the Australia Day public holiday but will open the next day on Saturday until 12pm as normal.

There are still plenty of 2024 calendars available for sale, so if you are needing calendars come have a look at all the various designs.

We have stocked up on Slappa's thongs, so if you need a new pair of thongs this summer, come have a look at our most extensive range of sizes and colours yet!

We also have some Christmas stock that we have marked down for clearance at up to 50% off!

Lastly we would like to share some interesting stats from 2023.

- This December we had 7500 parcels delivered for the month, a 900 increase on what we had in 2022! The total for the year was 64,000 parcels delivered, a 10% increase on 2022!

- We continue to do more Bank@Post transactions than before, due to the closure of bank branches around the country. Bank@Post allows you to deposit and withdraw cash using a bank card from over 80 participating financial institutions.

- Our local parcel pickup service for local businesses continues to do well, with us picking up up 7600 parcels in 2023, this is a 20% increase on 2022! This is provided at no extra cost to our local wineries and other parcel sending businesses and allows them to focus on other aspects of their business rather than spending time and energy dropping off at the Post Office.

It isn't all good news though as the AusPost BillPay service continues to decline in popularity. This service allows customers to pay their bills in person at the post office, but customers are increasingly being pushed to pay their bills online to reduce transaction costs for these businesses. We once did over 20,000 bill payments a year but are now down to under 13,000. By paying your bills at the Post Office, you are helping keep this service running and are supporting your locally owned and operated LPO.

We hope everyone has a great 2024!

Tuesday 9th Newspapers

Newscorp, who are responsible for delivering all Newspapers to us on a Melbourne to Echuca run, have advised this morning that they could not deliver to us today due to flooding etc throughout the run.

Consequently there are no newspapers at any of the usual retail outlets in Heathcote.

Stay Safe.

Bryan

Newspapers will be available from our subagents as normal on public holidays except for Christmas Day, where we don't receive any newspapers.

We hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
