Mail being delayed ? Perhaps you can assist!

The bundle of mail in this photo is mail received TODAY that is incorrectly addressed and needs our attention to deliver it to the rightful owners.

Christmas is nearly here!

We will be closed Christmas Day (Monday 25th), Boxing Day (Tuesday 26th) and New Years Day (Monday 1st) as usual for the public holidays. We will be open all other business days and Saturdays as normal.

Newspapers will be available from our subagents as normal on public holidays except for Christmas Day, where we don't receive any newspapers.

We still have plenty of Christmas gifts, greeting cards, gift wrap and gift cards for your last minute Christmas shopping.

If you still need to send some Christmas Letters and Parcels with Australia, we recommend sending ASAP and preferably by Express Post, to ensure they get there on time.

We have 2024 Diaries and Calendars so you can stay organised as we welcome in the New Year.

We hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Parcels and Mail Delayed or Missing.

With due respect and apologies to all. Christmas is upon us!!

If Post Office Staff can’t find your parcel, maybe the reason could be one of the following -

• It hasn’t arrived yet. We will send out a message for each parcel as it arrives and reminders for parcels still on hand after 5 days IF your mobile phone number has been included in the address details of the parcel.

(Consider downloading the Australia Post App to allow you to track the movement of your parcels.)

• It has arrived but it has been incorrectly addressed to a different surname or street address.

• It has arrived but sorting hasn’t been completed.

The large number of parcels currently being handled each day due to the fabulous sales capturing Pre-Christmas spending on top of the usual increase at this time of the year has placed an enormous strain on sorting and delivery staff.

Peter, The Roadside Delivery Driver and Ross, the township Postie, have their mail sorted and cards written up in Bendigo overnight. They are usually out on their runs delivering the Cards to you as early as 7 or 8am. However, the actual sorting and labeling of the parcels takes hours (up to three) before all parcels and mail is available for collection.

You may have received a card indicating a parcel is ready for collection but infact it may not have been sorted and ready for delivery if you call in before 10am.

Your help is needed please. If you need to ring the Post Office before 10am we will struggle to answer the call, so if you are enquiring about a parcel, please try tracking the parcel yourself. If you have an issue with your parcel or mail delivery, but it is not at Heathcote LPO, we won't be able to help you. Call 13 13 18 or visit the Help & Support section of the AusPost website or app to lodge an enquiry.

Please ask senders to properly address your mail and parcels to help our staff complete the sorting promptly. You may know who “Grumpy and Slugga” are but it does slow things down for us and takes our staff away for the important task of serving you. It may only be ONE item for you but potentially TWO HUNDRED or more items to find the correct Post Office Box for each item – a task that regularly takes over two hours to complete.

In other news, Australia Post Police Checks and Workforce Verification will no longer be available in-store from the start of October. They will be either online only, or you will have to find another provided for these services.

In more positive news, the Express Post Guarantee has been reinstated, meaning that if your item isn't delivered in the advertised timeframe you will be eligible for a refund of the postage costs. More information is available here: https://auspost.com.au/business/shipping/domestic-shipping/express-post/express-post-guarantee

Lastly, MyPost Business users are now able to issue parcel returns to their customers in the form of either a label or a QR code, similar to the eParcel return system you may have used in the past. This makes it very seemless and easy to provide a return service for your customers.

PO Box renewals were due yesterday which means we held our Pay On Time draw to win a $100 Gift Card by MasterCard today!

In previous years, we have had PO Box 562 & 692 come ahead as winners.

This year's winner is PO Box 515! Thankyou for paying on time.

If you haven't paid for your PO Box, you still have time. Unpaid boxes are blocked from access on April 15, and you will lose your lease on the 1st of May.

If you aren't intending on renewing please let us know so we don't bother you with follow up phone calls.

You can renew in-store at any Post Office or online at https://auspost.com.au/mypost/pobox/renew/

09/03/2023

We will be CLOSED this Monday for the Labour Day long weekend which means no mail in or out of Heathcote. Newspapers will be available elsewhere in the normal locations as per their opening hours

PO Box Renewals are also nearing their due date, being due in 3 weeks from today on Friday the 31st of March.

As with the previous two years, we will be holding a draw to win a $100 Gift Card by Mastercard, which will be randomly selected from PO Box holders who have paid by the 31st of March. In previous years we have had PO Box 562 and 692 take out the prize!

In addition, all private (e.g non-business) PO Boxes receive a $5 pay on time discount when they renew by March 31st!

As mentioned before, from May 1st you will no longer be able to pay for Australia Post products or services with a cheque. This means we won't be able to accept cheques for PO Box renewals in 2024

If you'd like to add PO Box Plus or another service please let us know during payment in-store

You can pay in-store or online at

14/02/2023

Hi all,

From Monday the 1st of May, Australia Post will no longer be accepting cheques for the payment of Australia Post products and services. This means we can not longer accept cheques for stock, postage and PO Boxes from May 1st.

Cheques for seperate agencies, like for 3rd party bills using Post Billpay will still be acceptable where the agency has allowed it.

You will also still be able to deposit cheques into your bank account using our Bank@Post service.

This will mainly impact PO Box renewal payments starting in 2024, as this is the main AusPost product where we still sometime receive cheques for payment. You will have to use cash or card to pay. PO Box renewals this year will still be able to be paid by cheque so long as you pay before the end of April

Speaking of which, PO Box renewals are now available for payment. They are due on the 31st of March so you should receive an email, paper bill or both sometime this month.

As usual there is a $5 discount for private PO Boxes when they are paid on time, and we will also be giving away a $100 Gift Card by MasterCard to a random box holder who has paid on time! To be in the running, make sure you have paid by March 31st, winner will be drawn on April 1st!

Parcel Lockers!

You may have seen our new bright red Parcel Lockers located on the Hospital Street side of our PO Box alleyway (behind our shop), and they are now available to use!

We have attached some photos with some messages you should receive if you have a parcel in a parcel locker. It comes with a 6 digit code which you will need to receive the parcel.

When you get to the parcel locker:
- Hit number 2 for collect
- Enter your 6 Digit One Time Code
- Enter your Phone Number

The locker with your parcel will pop open allowing you to retrieve it. Please close the door when you are done.

It's that easy!

Parcels will be held in the lockers for 2 business days, after which they will come back inside the post office for collection as you are used to.

You can also use the lockers to send parcels! This is especially handy if the parcel won't fit in the Street Post Box out the front.

The lockers are great for
- People who can't collect or send parcels during business hours
- People who prefer to avoid human interaction
- People who want to keep parcels away from their family
- Quick trips where you only need to pickup or drop off one or 2 parcels but don't need to wait in-store

Parcels addressed to a parcel locker will always be placed in them, but we also have the ability to place other parcels in them as well, at our discretion.

If your parcel is addressed to your home or PO Box, there is no guarantee we will place them in a parcel locker but it may happen on occassion.

To guarantee your parcel is delivered to a locker, make sure you use your parcel locker address.

To sign up for a parcel locker address, head to: https://auspost.com.au/receiving/collection-points/use-a-247-parcel-locker

We also have some interesting statistics to share with you for the 2022 year! December we had our most parcel deliveries ever, totalling almost 6600! That is 300 more than our previous high and we finished the year delivering over 58,000!

With our parcel pickup service, we collected 6300 parcels from businesses around Heathcote, leading to a total of 22,500 parcels sent from Heathcote.

We are having our biggest parcels week ever so we are asking customers if they can only ask for parcels when they get a notification to say it is awaiting collection or they get a card.

We are asking that customers please not come in-store to enquire on parcels that they are hoping are here or haven't yet arrived. Any parcels that are taking too long, need to be enquired with the customer contact centre on 13 13 18.

We are currently too busy to look for parcels that you aren't sure is here.

We apologise for the inconvenience

There have been some important changes to the Post Office and Newsagency that we wanted to summarise here.

The McIvor Times has withdrawn it's availablity from your local newsagency, but information about it's availability is on their page. Future information should be available there as well.

This week we have stopped home newspaper deliveries within the town, due to the sharp drop in viability. Newspapers will still be available in-store of course in addition to IGA & the Service Stations. If you would like your newspaper regularly please enquire with staff about setting you up on our putaway list.

Footpath work has reached the post office so access may be more difficult than before but we will remain open as normal.

Passport delivery advice has changed and the official time is now a minimum of 6 weeks. If you need your passport quicker you may need to pay for Priority Processing.

The changes to MyPost Business are now live, more information is available in an earlier post on our page.

AusPost Mobile have now introduced a $10 plan for people who don't need a lot of data. You still get unlimited calls and texts with a 30 day expiry so this is an excellent value product! See us in-store if this interests you!

We have a heap of new stock in-store and something for everyone! We have new Phones, network devices like Routers and Wi-Fi extenders, Air Fryers, As Seen on TV products and lots of kids toys including a new Harry Potter range seen in the photo!

18/05/2022

Some more great changes are coming to MyPost Business!

From July 4th, savings bands will now be calculated every day, based on how much has been spent on parcel sending over the last 4 weeks or the last 12 months, whichever provides the greatest discount. If you send enough to move up a band, you will go up the next day and stay there for at least 4 weeks, even if your parcel spend drops. This will help customers move up bands more quickly when their business increases and won't drop back down as quickly when business decreases.

Another big change is that metro zones have expanded. Same Major City sending now includes parcels sent from Major Cities or Major Regional Areas to a Same State Capital City. Previously only parcels sent within a Major City or Major Regional Area received the biggest discount (e.g Bendigo to Heathcote, Heathcote to Bendigo, Melbourne to Melbourne, Geelong to Geelong etc), however from July 4th this discount will now also be applied to parcels sent from these areas to Melbourne (e.g Heathcote to Melbourne, Bendigo to Melbourne, Geelong to Melbourne). Not every postcode will receive this discount when sending to their states capital city, only those classified as being within a Major Regional Area or Major City which Heathcote VIC luckily is. Parcels sent from Heathcote to Bendigo or Melbourne will receive discounts up to 40% for those on Band 5!

Recently, the ability to create returns has been added to MyPost Business, allowing businesses to create a seamless returning experience for their customers. Improvements are coming, where the customer details will now be prepopulated. Simply head to the original order and select Create return label.

More information is available in an email recently sent to all MyPost Business customers.

If these changes are confusing please see us in-store and we can discuss them with you.
