This week I have had many! not just one, two or a few customers comment that they have noticed our prices are in line or even cheaper than the major retailers.
We don’t price gouge. We charge a constant percentage to cover cost.

This isn’t a change for us but is definitely noticed that our customers are taking notice.
If I have to thank the big retailers for anything it is pushing their customers to actually take note.
This is breaking the general assumption that small retailers are too expensive to support.

When Business is slow it’s the small companies that lift you up, while the big refuse to support or be compassionate or be patient, knowing you have always and will always regain stability.
The same is true of our customers. The local and regulars understand limitations and tough times but support you when they can with what they can.
Times are tough and We appreciate everyone supporting us with the small fraction of what is left after the increasing cost of living.

It’s extremely disheartening in a small family owned business when you have to confront and remove a local for stealing your products.
I don’t know what’s worse, knowing the hours I’ve had away from my children working hard to maintain my business, or how embarrassing the emasculation of a man removing the Tallie from his pant’s in front of a shop full of customers and children is when caught.
Do people not actually notice the huge television in our open shop showing their moves to all in store?
Charter boat? What charter boat?
Sorry but not sorry that he will never be allowed back into our premises.

One of the best things about owning a shop in this community is seeing kindness and thoughtfulness and generosity.
Whenever there has been a tragedy, whether it be a house fire or a flood or Covid implications or cost of living crisis, individuals in the community have stepped up to ‘pay it forward’.
It was my absolute pleasure today to pass on a Xmas card with Goolmangar shop vouchers to a family in need.
This is what Xmas is really about for me ###x
