π A big thumbs up to our intrepid outdoor crew who spent last Friday and Saturday at Seven Mile Beach cleaning up storm debris built up over the last year.
π The crew was busy at the northern end of the beach at Gerroa down to the area adjacent to the old tip site.
π Over the two days they managed to remove 50 tonnes of material.
π This latest operation follows the work they did following the April storms cleaning more than 100 tonnes of storm debris from our parks and reserves, drains and culverts.
π Thatβs on top of the 20 tonnes of green waste dropped off by residents to our Minnamurra depot, that was also the result of the April storms.
π At the same time, our residents also dropped off more than 19 tonnes of flood damaged items to the neighbouring Dunmore landfill.
π The free residential drop-offs were made possible through Kiama Council waiving the fees for dropping off their green waste and flood damaged items.
π This amounted to a saving of around $11,700 for our residents.
π Our thanks to the NSW Government for providing funding support for our clean-up at Seven Mile Beach through the Crown Land Flood Recovery Program.
π The Seven Mile Beach clean-up cost around $8,600.
