🍶🍷 Two days of fun and flavour commence, with a terrific wave of sake to hit the tasting table tonight (Friday) and the latest icons from Henschke come Saturday!

Join host Jennifer Anderson from this evening between 4-6pm, as she shares her great knowledge and love of these ten diverse sakes - from medium dry, aromatic and full-bodied profiles, through to the earthy, spicy, sweet and even sparkling 😍🇯🇵

Saturday then sweeps in Eden Valley superstars Henschke, with two whites and six reds showing the fruit drive and total purity they’ve become so renowned for! The lineup includes an exceptional 2008 Hill of Grace cellar release (a tasting fee will be required to try this on the day), as well as a 2013 Mount Edelstone! Host Craig Haworth from Joval Wines will be here pouring 12 to 2pm (or until bottles pour out!)

💥 Saturday’s tasting! Unless you’ve been living under one of these 👉🪨 chances are you’ve come across these unmistakable bottles before! Indeed, few other names coming out of the Adelaide Hills command as much adoration as the wine coming out of Shaw + Smith. Together with current head winemaker Adam Wadewitz, the combined expertise of cousins Martin Shaw and Michael Hill-Smith MW has etched their names into Aussie wine folklore.

Come by tomorrow (Saturday 20th) between 12 and 2pm, join hosts Penny Grant (Shaw + Smith) and Dean Burley (Red + White), and take a look at their latest classics, including their standout single vineyard bottlings - the Lenswood Chardonnay and Balhannah Shiraz, both so so rich in character and aromatic complexity. Joining them will be some new treats from The Other Wine Co. (grown on the same Balhannah vineyards as S+S!), with bright expressions of Pinot Gris, Grenache, and one plush little Barbera ✌️

🇮🇹 Oh, Italy… you’re too good to us! There’s a whole frenzy of Barolo brilliance going down at tomorrow’s Saturday (13th) 12-2pm tasting, with a lineup specially selected as much for flavour diversity as they are for their significance/status in the beloved Piedmont region.

Join us come midday, as we compare two distinctive styles of Langhe Nebbiolo - the pretty fragant efforts coming from the north-west of Barolo (near La Morra) and the richer, more baritone drops from around Serralunga/Mongorte d’Alba 😌

We’re absolutely stoked for this one and what we think both Nebbiolo beginners and long-term fans will glean from it 🫶

🫡 Can you tell we’re pumped for this one? We’re dipping our palates into the purity and elegance of Cullen at this Saturday’s tasting!

Just a 20 minute drive north to the beautiful Wilyabrup after our Leeuwin Estate focus last week, where you find the inimitable Vanya Cullen and team - artisans of some of Australia’s most charming whites and reds, each one a fine example of what a skilled approach towards organic/biodynamic viticulture can bring to the table!

And what a table this will make for tomorrow from 12 to 2pm - on show/special is the zesty skin-contact Amber blend, moreish Cabernet Merlot, the classic Grace Madeline Sauv/Semillon blend, and previous favourite Dancing in the Moonlight Rosé. We finish it off with the two iconic showstoppers; the Diana Madeline Cabernet blend and Kevin John Chardonnay 😍 see you all at midday!

💛 That’s right, we have these sublime new Art Series efforts from Margaret River icons Leeuwin Estate at the centre of it all tomorrow (Saturday 16th)! With their legendary Chardonnay shining as brightly as ever, there’s something for everyone here - refreshing fruit and classy mineral drive on the Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc expressions, and both depth and nuance in the Shiraz and Cabernet! For us, these seem to just get better and better every year, so join our host Dean Burley from between 12 to 2pm, and see why these guys continue to set a high benchmark for both Margaret River, and the Aussie wine scene in general.

👋 There’s just no one quite like him - last Friday, we wished a very fond farewell to our indelible loyal leader, our captain, our long-standing manager and outright industry legend Charlie. After 18 years of his service, he now plans to enjoy his retirement with his family up in his new home at Moffat Beach!

It was quite telling, with the sheer amount of phone calls, emails, and in-store visits and gifts he received throughout his final few days, just how big of an impact Charlie has had on both the retail/hospitality scene, and within the lives of our customers and friends. His hard work ethic and deep knowledge of the trade is matched only by the infectious sense of humour, decency and warmth he brought to the role. We want to thank all those who made his last week feel that much more special.

Charlie, more than a manager, you are a dear friend to all at the Wine Emporium. We wish you all the very best in this richly-deserved new chapter of your life. This is indeed farewell, but not goodbye - we know we can count on you for many future catch-ups, with a beer in hand and a smile on your face 🍻❤️

Timo and team have always been fervent believers in making wines with ‘a point of difference’, reflecting the natural beauty and true expressions of what the Yarra can bring. Join in 12 to 2pm, and try these deep and detailed reds, imbued with a brilliant swath of red fruits, earth, dried herbs/spices, and darker touches of chocolate and black olive across these six bottles - here until they all pour out (with the whole range available on special!) 🙌

💛 Some warm weather fun heading your way this Friday (23rd) afternoon from 4 to 7pm, as we pour these juicy and jubilant treats from Forage Supply Co. in the Barossa Valley! Winemakers Scotty and Justin (pictured) are two true wine gurus, born and bred in the region, always striving to show its vast range of grapes at their most pure, expressive and flavourful.

With a Splice-esque Riesling, a plush Grenache Rosé, refreshing Grenache Blanc, as well as a whole assortment of reds (perfect chilled or room-temp), these wines are only just being seen on the Queensland market now after years of popularity down south - so come join our host, the passionate Shane from Vino Bros & Co, for a joyful Friday night wine hit 🍷

🍺🍷🍸 Some top-notch stuff going down in the store this weekend! We kick things off Friday with some cold end-of-week beers from the great folks at Yulli’s Brews - host Joey is looking forward to pouring his crisp summer delights!

Saturday brings two of Central Otago’s most elite - Prophet’s Rock and Burn Cottage! There’s plenty of bright fruit and mineral complexity to try with classic NZ expressions of Riesling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir; the knowledgeable Clint Hillery from will be here to host and tell you all the delicious details!

We finish things off with Byron Bay legends Brookie’s, and four of their delectable creations - the classic Byron Dry, Slow Gin, Mac Liqueur and their Single Malt Original Whisky!

🇦🇺 Tomorrow (Friday 9th), we welcome in the NSW white and red favourites from Ravensworth, hosted by reputed head winemaker himself Bryan Martin! He’ll be here to pour you a glass of these six new releases, and offer his insight into what makes the Murrumbateman region (a half hour north of Canberra) so special to work in. Running 4 to 6pm!

🇫🇷 For all French wine fans, you simply cannot miss this Saturday (10th), as we delve into the Vouvray legend that is Domaine Huet! We were utterly starstruck when we tried these ourselves last week - you can expect world-class Chenin Blanc of precision, length and a unique mineral drive. Come by between 12 to 2pm, as we show why these are considered the pinnacle of ageworthy Chenin over in the Loire Valley ⭐️

We’ll have these chilled down and ready to go from 12 to 2pm (Saturday 2nd Dec), as host Brad from Domaine Wine Shippers hands you a glass and looks to illuminate this legendary estate’s remarkable consistency and indelible style 🤤

The Brut Réserve, Brut Rosé, Sous Bois, and Extra Brut 2009 are all on pour free of charge, and for any bubbly lovers keen to keep going, we have the beautiful Louis Salmon Blanc de Blancs and Elisabeth Rosé (both 2009) both on show to try for a small ticket price of $15! 🎄 It’s here, and it’s a stunner! But then again, when are these Christmas Gin releases from the legends at Four Pillars ever not totally delicious? 🤷‍♂️

Full of all your favourite Christmas-tinged flavours, with spices and sweets in equal measure, they are all sitting in the shop now ready to be loved!

🌹 Can there possibly be anything better than a delicious Rosé tasting lineup on a sunny day over a long weekend? I mean, nothing else really springs to mind…

Here’s a look at what we’ll have on pour for you all tomorrow (Saturday 30th) at our 12 to 2pm free tasting, covering three different countries in France, Italy and Australia! Included are some old favourites with new vintages, like the Domaines Ott and Rameau d’Or, as well as brand new arrivals we loved trying lately 🤌

☀️ That time of year where winter’s heading for the exit, the sun’s back in full force, and Ochota Barrels delicious releases arrive in all their colourful glory… We just tried ‘em, and damn, are they good… yep, this may very well be our favourite vintage yet from these certified organic, South Australian magicians 😉

There’s a textural Gewürztraminer, a bright juicy red blend (perfect for chilling) called the ‘Sector Ten’, as well as returning favourites with Pinot Meunier, Grenache, Syrah, and the super unique ‘Botanicals of the Basket Range’, made this year from 100% Pinot Noir!

Dangerously drinkable was the phrase agreed upon by the staff today - come on in and ask for a bottle of whatever tempts, or take a look at them on our website 🤞
