Another great Toowoomba 4th of January show done and dusted! We saw an awesome 12-car field to kick off the night with Ryan Cats and Klinton Hancey making there Late Model debut! Heat 1 saw Carter Armstrong off to an early lead. Heat 2 saw Jordan Cunningham take a convincing win! Feature time saw Armstrong and Cunningham off the front row with Bennett and Sweeney off the second row! This put a fair bit of pressure on the Caloundra kid! But it didn’t seem to faze Carter, who led the race from start to finish! Klinton Hancey put on an impressive effort, coming from 6th to 3rd in the feature. Thanks to all our fans who came to support LMRQ!

Thanks to team Jenner for putting on an awesome display at Biggenden apex Christmas Fair, They had the cars on display out front of the Grand hotel, Thanks to Stu and Di! The children had an absolute ball. Thanks to Peter and Carley Jenner for doing an awesome job setting everything up, All people young and old were ecstatic from the give aways, and the roar of the V8 engine starts! The Grand Hotel already booked the Jenners back in for next year due to the crowds reaction!

With a solid week of rain leading up to the 2nd race meeting for LMRQ season, and the rain scaring off a few interstate drivers with the exception of Daniel Cassidy to wave the flag for NSW. Ryan Harris and the guys from Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway worked their fingers to the bones to preparing a racetrack In these extreme conditions for a great night of racing.

Hot Laps seen Cassidy set a blistering pace with a lap time of 13.409s in the super tricky conditions, but unfortunately seeing Alex Sweeney out with some broken front suspension parts.

Heat 1 was taken out by Daniel Cassidy
Followed by Heat 2 seen Carter Armstrong to a convincing win!

Feature time with the rain threatening to finish the night early! but the crew at Hi-tec Oils speedway pressed on getting the feature underway, with Daniel Cassidy starting from pole, the green flag dropped with Cassidy taking off to an impressive starting and leading the race from start to finish and the rest of the field battling out for positions! Making this a super intense, exciting action packed race! With the final result!

Last night kicked off what is set to be a cracker of a 2024 season of latemodels at Kingaroy speedway, with a 9 car field they didn’t disappoint the v8 fans!

Jordan Cunningham winning the first heat,
Carter Armstrong taking out the second heat!

Carter starting out of poll for the main with new comer Nathan Battersby starting out of 2nd! From the green light is was set to be an awesome main, Alex Sweeney starting from 4th and got the jump on the field and drove around the outside putting him into 1st place, at that stage it looked like Alex was running away with it

Unfortunately a stoppage put the ambers out bunching the field back up with 4 laps to go! The lights went green once again Alex was off to a lead, now with Battersby chipping at the inside of Alex, it came right down the wire with Nathan Battersby getting the wins! And in his first meeting in a latemodel ever! Amazing work Nathan!

We look forward to seeing all the fans and Drivers next week at Toowoomba speedway for a $2500 to win!

Just remember kids and fans to head to the pits meet the drivers and grab some stickers and photos in the cars

With the Sedans sold it was good to get some laps in the new to us XR1 Rocket from Warren Oldfield
