Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you all! I thought it was time for an update after I’ve enjoyed extended time off with my family 😀 Ausdeck Racing has decided to have an indefinite break. We aren’t going anywhere, we are just all enjoying the extended down time as it’s the first time in 26 years I’ve stopped to relax and enjoy holidays 😊 I’ll still be at the track but for now just as a spectator 😎

Thank you to all our supporters for your messages and ongoing support 🤘 See you at the track 👍

It has been a while between posts 😄 I've been busy enjoying family time and as the Sprintcar season starts, I've had plenty of people asking where am I and where is Ausdeck?

We are still here but we've decided to take a break. Stewart and I decided to take a break when Covid hit - what crazy times!

If we do race again, it will only be around Christmas time although I am really enjoying the time off with my family 😌

Thank you to everyone for your support! We will definitely see you at the tracks and possibly at Christmas time to race ✌️

He is Australia's leading speedway photographer and has been for many years, he had to start out somewhere and he candidly chats with Stu about this. For the past 20 years he has published Oval Express. Want to find out how it all started, Phil goes into detail about that too.

To our racing family –

We, like all of you, are devastated that the 2020 NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s will not happen this year.

The Knoxville Nationals ARE Knoxville Raceway. This is the event that we plan for, anticipate and look forward to all year long. Not having the event, quite frankly, seems surreal.
From the onset of the COVID pandemic, we thought “if ANY race happens this year, surely it will be the Nationals.” Quickly, reality hit us and we knew we were in for an uphill battle.
Plan B turned into Plan C and somehow got to Plan M (we lost count at some point). We’ve worked hard to keep this event alive – not for us – but for the fans, for the drivers, the team members, the sponsors and this town. We take pride in hosting the Knoxville Nationals every year. In bringing people together and providing a backdrop for lifelong memories.

Up until late last week, we had hope. We presented our final plan to state officials that would at least allow the nearly 12,000 race fans who had already purchased tickets to attend. The plan was not approved. We remain limited to 7,000 spectators at our facility, down from our normal capacity of 20,322. Knowing this, to move forward with the race would mean telling nearly 5,000 fans who had purchased tickets “Thank you, but you cannot attend now.” It would mean telling the 7,000 who could still attend, “Due to social distancing, we have to move your seats and re-ticket you.” It would mean telling the more than 8,000 fans who are accustomed to purchasing their tickets at the ticket office, “We apologize, but you cannot attend this year.” In essence, we would be, in some way, disappointing every one. Our fans are important to us. The show does not go on without you. So without you, the show will not go on.

The pain is somewhat eased, we hope, for the drivers and teams and fans, that with the partnership of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series, there will be racing at the Sprint Car Capital of the World that week. The event will be limited to 7,000 spectators. No off-track events, such as the parade, Winged Nation shows, autograph sessions, concerts, turns 3&4 parties, will happen. Like the Nationals, we will have to look forward to all of those in 2021. But, we will have racing. We will see this country’s greatest sprint car drivers battle for the Capitani Classic title and trophy.

To the community of Knoxville, we know this hurts you, too. You all open your homes and your businesses to the racing family each August. We know that you look forward to seeing familiar faces and feeling the energy buzzing through town. You are an equal part of what makes the Knoxville Nationals the most amazing sprint car event in the world. We also know there was concern in the community about the safety and health of its citizens. Your concerns were heard and understood. We want the Knoxville Nationals to happen when everyone feels comfortable to enjoy them.

It is our intention to make the 60th running of the NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s in 2021 the biggest event yet. We will be ready to welcome more than 23,000 fans from around the world to our race track and make the wait worthwhile. Until then, thank you all for your support this season and throughout this process.

Sincerely,
The Marion County Fair Board and Knoxville Raceway

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, Ausdeck Racing have suspended all future two-seater Sprintcar nights due to hygiene concerns with helmets and race suits and close proximity of staff and customers during the events.

As such, if you are the holder of a ticket or voucher, you are welcome to enjoy the two seater experience when things return to normal or organise a refund by phoning the Ausdeck offices on 07 3718 8000.

There will be no further events until further notice and advice from Queensland Health in the future.

We want to thank you all for your understanding during these times and ensure you we are all committed to doing our part in ‘flattening the curve’ of this virus.

After further consultation with Queensland Health, we regret to advise that we will NOT be proceeding with the event scheduled for this Saturday night (March 21). We believe there will be further advices issued by Queensland Government in the coming days which would impact on our ability to proceed with the event and we wanted to provide notification to competitors and fans as early as possible to minimise any inconvenience.

Whilst much uncertainty remains with regard to conducting race meetings, we will look at the possibility of running some practice nights. Rest assured that as soon as we have the authority to do so, we will resume our scheduled season of events, so stay tuned to Facebook and the Archerfield Speedway website for further updates.

We thank everybody who has supported us through this time of uncertainty and we will commence normal operations as soon as possible. We urge you all to stay safe during this challenging period and look forward to being able to return to some sort of normality soon.

SCHEUERLE BACK FROM INJURY

Andrew Scheuerle is set to return to racing after sitting out last weekend. Scheuerle sustained an injury after a crash that ruled him out of the Australian Title feature race in Tasmania a couple of weeks ago. He’s spent the last couple of weeks resting up and getting ready for his return in this Saturday night’s Mayor’s Cup at his home track.

With twin twenty five lap feature races scheduled for this weekends event, the Ultimate Sprintcars will have lots to play for when a star studded line-up hits the Hi-Banks.

Can Scheuerle break through for a win on home soil?
