Balter NZ IPA
Tasting notes: âKiwi-grown Motueka and Nectaron hops give this IPA a grassy, grounded character to it, bringing to mind the dewy green paddocks that connect both NZ coasts. Balter NZ IPA has an epic mash of orchard fruits.â

LIMITED RELEASE âïžđ»đłđż // NZ PILS Formerly known as âCuzzieâ this beer festival and taproom favourite has now hit cans. NZ Pils is stop one in a three-part flavour journey that will take you on a Mouth Holiday to New Zealand, with beers two (NZIPA) and three (NZHAZY) coming in the following months. So punch your flavour passport with NZ Pils, available at all Wines & Ales stores.
What the can says: Invigorate your puku with a frosty refresher. The first stop on a taste tour of NZ, this wildly crisp Pils uses all-Kiwi hops to bring soft fruity and floral aromas, with a lick of lime and a snappy bitterness. Dry hopped like our cuzzieâs dry humour, itâll take your mouth on a holiday to the land of the long white can. Say kia ora to our New Zealand Pilsner⊠heaps better than Old Zealand Pilsner. â 5.4% ABV / 35 IBU
What the Brewer says: âWe wanted to celebrate going international, but not too international,â jokes Balter Head Brewer, Scott Hargrave. âSeriously though, New Zealand hops really reflect the nature of its people. Thereâs an optimism to the taste without being overbearing. Some NZ hops are similar to Aussie varieties in that they can be rough around the edges, but thereâs so much good character in there to draw out by brewing in certain ways. This is a chance to showcase those hops in different styles that really celebrate what the country has to offer.âđ»

Crosby Road would like to introduce two local legends that have just landed in-store!
To the left of screen is the decadent 77% dark cacao chili chocolate from our neighbours . Beautifully textured, rich in flavour with a pleasant burst of chili providing a nice warming finish.
We washed it down with a Fonzie Nitro Porter. The creaminess of the beer quelled the heat of the chili and itâs rich velvety texture was a perfect match for the equally smooth and velvety chocolate.
Chocolate and beers? Thatâs worthy of a cheers! đ»
Come and see us at Crosby Road for these (and plenty more) local treasures!

Salted Cod Croquettes matched with a Sardinian Vermentino? It must be Christmas in JulyâŠ
This textural white has the perfect amount of acidity to balance the creaminess of the cod croquettes and aioli.
Itâs a classic example of acidity cutting through fat and texture being balanced by texture. In summary; itâs a harmonious seductive dance on your palate.
Come and see us at Crosby Road to acquire this vermentino. Head to Bar Alto for the tasty lunch!
PS. The mussels were pretty damn good too!

Thereâs a little game of football happening tonight Queensland and despite the series being won and done you can still eat and drink like a winner.
Weâll be indulging in some Darling Downs beef matched with a South Australian Shiraz. We could tell you about the tannin in Shiraz binding with the fats in the meat to create a supple and elegant tasting wine; but itâs steak and Shiraz - you already know theyâre perfect pals.
Enjoy the game indulgently.

Pet Naturalist (Proper Noun). A lover of all things MĂ©thode Ancestrale.

These natural beauties are high and demand and limited in quantity so get organised and come and see us at Crosby Road!
Drink better, naturally.

Tonight Iâll be drinking a Brouhaha Apricot Sour matched with a Thai Basil Chilli Chicken stir fry.
This enticing combination is a great example of using sweetness to counter spice with the fruit injection of Apricot quelling the fire of the chilli.
The sourness of the beer comes through on the back palate, providing optimum refreshment whilst also readying your tastebuds for the next delicious sip and bite.
Now thatâs Monday night done right! đ»

The old adage of drinking bubbles to celebrate and bubbles to commiserate seems rather appropriate for lockdown 3.0.
The drawbridge may be up for Queenslanders trying to visit the beautiful Apple Isle (or perhaps grape isle) but that doesnât mean you canât drink some of Tasmaniaâs finest.
Arguably the best producer of sparkling wine outside of Champagne, Tasmaniaâs sparkling wines regularly score top points at local and international wine shows.
With cool climate conditions aiding the retention of acidity, Tassieâs terroir is perfect for producing fizz with great finesse.
Put some sparkle into your lockdown, satisfy for Champagne tastes at a fraction of the cost.

Lockdown Recipe Idea - Peanut Butter Stout on Sourdough.
Step 1. Open and pour 375ml of Aether Peanut Butter Stout into an appropriate glass vessel.
Step 2. (Optional) Garnish with Sourdough.
The latest Winter delight from Aether has just landed at Crosby Road, the Creature of the Night Peanut Butter Stout.
With an ingredient list featuring chocolate and roasted malts as well as peanut extract; you know youâre in for intense flavour experience and this beer certainly delivers.
With rich chocolate and peanut notes, this certainly is a sweet treat but is well balanced by savoury toasty malt notes. The decadent flavour also masks a rather generous ABV of 7% - a delectable velvet sledgehammer.
Itâs raining out there, grab a peanut butter stout and your favourite chair đ

PSA. We sell lovely Plumm glassware.
Also, as of tomorrow youâll need wear a mask when visiting Crosby Road Wines and Ales.

Hooray for International Rosé Day!
Okay, so weâre 24 hours early but personally we think any day is perfect for rosĂ©.
KP Naturally are wines are designed âto display the true aromas and flavours of the vineyard, nothing else.â
This Tempranillo Rosé is a savoury delight with the slightest note of grapefruit providing a counterpunch of fruit sweetness.
Unfined and unfiltered (but refined in flavour), we encourage you to celebrate Rosé Day in style.
Try one, try them all!

Hazelnut, coffee and chocolate wrapped in a velvety curtain of creaminess..Handsome indeed.
Weâre stoked to welcome back Balterâs Handsome Elvis, a nitro milk stout that perfectly treads the line between sweetness and bitternessâŠThis beer will make you want winter to go forever..
Sadly itâs a limited release, so please, please grab one before they are gone!

Turtle Power! đą
Itâs with great pleasure we welcome back Dormilona Yokel wines.
Well balanced and showing fruit purity and vibrance (and perhaps the cutest looking label going around), these wines are the complete package.
The secret is out though and these wonât last very long. Come and grab your hero in a half shell before theyâre gone!

Introducing two unusual and one rather excited suspects!
The pioneering Hahndorf Hill Winery were the first to plant BlaufrÀnkisch in Australia; a light - medium bodied red with origins linked to the Austro-Hungarian empire.
Tricky to pronounce, impossibly easy to drink, this variety is a wonderful substitute for Pinot Noir drinkers looking to broaden their vinous vocabulary.
Hahndorf Hillâs is a great example with a beautiful lifted nose enticing you into medium-bodied palate displaying notes of red cherry and blueberry. The label suggests Salmon as a recommended food match - we couldnât agree more.
The white wine on display is another one synonymous with Austria, namely GrĂŒner Veltliner.
A terrific alternative to Riesling, Hahndorf Hill have made waves on a global scale with their of versions of this variety winning a swathe of international awards against European competition.
The GrĂŒner on display is a marvellous example with beautiful mineral-like acidity and notes of orange peel and lemon. Beautifully textured, we could easily drink this (responsibly) all day. Match it with your favourite spicy stir fry.
Bravo Hahndorf Hill!đ

Introducing Aetherâs limited release Velour Fog - a collaboration worthy of celebration.
Dubbed as a Red Velvet Nitro Milk Chocolate Stout, this collab with Flour & Chocolate Patisserie has resulted in a truly delectable sweet treat.
With intense layers of of chocolate and vanilla, this beer is well balanced by the acidity of raspberry and a soft, velvety mouthfeel courtesy of the nitro. Intense, yet balanced.
If you like red velvet (which of course you do) we think this could be a perfect match for you.
Only limited quantities available. Enjoy!

Just quietly...we mightâve discovered a rather Australian way of livinâ la dolce vita!
This secret involves the two key elements of Dolcetto (bringing the dolce) matched with a rather decadent Bangalow Sweet Pork and Bacon Sausage Roll.
With the rich salty notes of the pork being countered by the sweet red fruit notes and velvety tannin of the Nomads Garden Dolcetto, we think may have unearthed the brunch of champions.
Both worked harmoniously, with neither component overwhelming the other.
After an afternoon nap the experiment continued into the evening and we can happily report the results were equally pleasing when the Dolcetto was matched with lasagna, with those delightful tannins seamlessly cutting through cheesy, bechamel goodness.
Live the good life - drink Dolcetto đ·
NB. Thanks to Daisy for introducing me to the decadent Byron Bay Sausage Rolls!

âOut on the patio we sip.â
Fancy a wine thatâs designed with relaxation in mind?
Introducing Patio, the latest Pet Nat from La Violetta Wines.
This wine remains one of our favourites and is the epitome of refreshment and balance.
Weâd even go as far as saying the ultimate afternoon delight is sipping a Patio on your patio and pairing it with beautiful Brisbane sunset!
Stocks are limited so get one today so you can take it slow at your weekend chateau.

Itâs international Pinot Grigio day but we think this guy gets all the attention, so we are celebrating with a glass of... Soave!
Located in the Veneto region in northeast Italy, Soave produces dry white wines made predominantly from Garganega (although Trebbiano de Soave and Chardonnay are permitted in smaller percentages).
These wines typically display notes of green apple, pear, peach and citrus. They are wonderful match with seafood or chicken risotto and a terrific Pinot Grigio alternative.
Bravo Soave đ

Gin in a tin that will put a smile on your dial!
Itâs a stunning Brisbane afternoon worthy of a gin and tonic and we are fortunate to be the shortest of stumbles from our neighbours at Wishbone Distillery.
The good news is that these award winning spirits are now available in a ready to drink format meaning you can consume them at home - no stumble required.
Award winning spirits mixed with award winning locally made tonic and soda. Talk about award season...
Reward yourself with one of these QLD delights đ

Isnât it nice when old friends drop by after extended time away?
Weâre delighted to welcome back Esoterico and Range Life Pet Nat. We can happily report both are as distinguished and likeable as we remember them.
With them weâd like to introduce Pastafarian a delightfully fruit forward Nebbiolo from Unico Zelco (opposed to the deity of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster...seriously check Google)!
Like all good house guests, these guys wonât hang around long, so weâd encourage you to come and mingle while theyâre still around!

Love your Mumm?
Show her by giving the greatest gift of all this Motherâs Day - Champagne obviously! đ„
A top shelf gift for a top shelf lady!
Love you Mum!

Looking for something fruity and bright? Thatâs Gamay alright!
Previously overlooked in favour of Pinot Noir, Gamay Noir is rightfully beginning to make its presence felt on retailerâs shelves.
Typically light to medium in body, these fruit forward wines are often bursting with bright red berry fruit.
More complex versions tend to express darker fruit and savoury, spicy notes as well as having more body and structure.
These lighter reds are perfect to drink in the warm Queensland climate and the drink earlier (or nouveau) style is perfect when served slightly chilled.
Weâll let you in on a little secret as well, theyâre generally cheaper than big cousin Pinot Noir!
Hooray for Gamay đ·
