Celebrating 10 years of 161 Cellars we are getting into the festival spirit with a special shop GLOW installation with wine tastings by candlelight.

FEATURED WINES

Featuring four wines in each session, two whites & two reds. Wine legend Andy will take you through the history, region and profile of each wine. For giggles he might even chuck in a good Dad joke.

Two sessions will be held on each Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

All the new vintage wines are starting to be released. Make sure you reach out if it’s something you really want to try. Yields are low in most Pinot Noirs and our allocation are small. DM if you want us to hold any for you..
POOLEY ESTATE PINTO NOIR
Vintage notes:
“The season started with consistent spring rainfall that built a solid foundation with strong, healthy canopies and bountiful bunch numbers. Mild conditions continued through to summer with few days reaching over 25C. The start of Autumn provided glorious sunshine days and cool oceanic evenings hailing the start of veraison. The vacant heat returned shortly thereafter to kickstart what would be a long and late vintage. The fruit was in absolutely no rush to be picked and showed its relaxed appreciation through integrated and balanced phenolic profiles.“
Tasting notes:
“Bright notes of fresh raspberry, cherries and black pepper on the nose with an underlying layer of mineral and cacao. On the palate, it’s persistent with generous red fruits, cedar, subtle game, and a dusting of aniseed. It’s delicately balanced with fine tannin and brilliant acidity.”

100% Estate grown on Glenkara Estate Vineyard in the Pyrenees Ranges. Western Victoria. the 2017 Vintage produced grapes of optimum ripeness, resulting in a rich complex and full bodies wine. Dark crimson in colour and a long palate displaying intense cassis, blackberry and to***co leaf notes supported by oak barrel nuances.

Also 100% Estate Grown. The 2017 Vintage has produced a rich, powerful and full bodied wine. Dark crimson in colour with a long palate displaying concentrated berry, dark plum and toasty oak characteristics. Matured for 3 years in American and French hogsheads. This wine represents one of the best vintages produced by the Glenkara Vineyard..
