This Wednesday night we are closed to the public for a private event ❌

If you're after a couple of glasses of wine or drinks to take away, you can head to our sister venue Sideways Liquor on Prospect Road for the same great SA-focussed offering.

Bowden Cellars will be open again on Thursday from 10am onwards for drinks and takeaways, and dinner will be available from 5pm onwards 🥩

We know you're all keen to know what we'll now be serving from the Bowden Cellars kitchen, and we're pleased to say that we have secured a brilliant Chef who will be running the Bowden Cellars kitchen from now on 🎉

What can you expect?

Expect a more wine-bar style food experience, with an ingredient-led menu, with both small share plates and larger mains, that is made to pair beautifully with the passionately-crafted South Australian wines on our list 🍷

When?

Our new food menu is available now, so you can join us for dinner on Wednesday and Thursday nights, and lunch and dinner on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Working from both his family vineyard in McLaren Vale and his parents’ vineyard in the Adelaide Hills (along with some select growers along the way), winemaker Michael punctuates his broad portfolio of classic regional varieties with specialisations in sangiovese, tempranillo and pinot meunier.

"His wines are quietly innovative, seeking to coax out a story of site and grape, rather than imprint one through winemaking methods."

This Friday night you'll be able to try beautiful wines from Wangolina all the way from SA's Limestone Coast 🍷

The winemaker behind Wangolina is a bit of a legend - Anita has been selected as a finalist in the Young Gun of Wine for 2024, which is also her fourth year of being selected!

Anita has a fascination with alternative varieties, while the classic French grapes of cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, semillon and sauvignon blanc still get plenty of airtime.

Her wines champion the less-known varieties through pure expressions, but also an increasing interest in experimentation.

BIG NEWS 📣

You may or may not have heard the news - after three great and tasty years being in the Bowden Cellars kitchen, CAROclub will be leaving their Plant 3 Bowden home.

We hope you will join us at Bowden Cellars over the next month before CARŌclub leave our kitchen and celebrate their time here by devouring a delicious burger, some fried chicken, and some of their delicious Oreo Cheesecake 🍔

We've got some bittersweet news for you, after 3 beautiful years at our location, it's come time for us to say goodbye to the Bowden community.

We first of all want to thank our amazing house mates for giving us the opportunity to take our food truck from the streets of Adelaide to a bricks and mortar location 🍔

Dale and Josh came to us with a vision for this space and we watched Plant 3 transform from a tired old warehouse into the most incredibly warm, light filled, welcoming bar and restaurant that we ever could have imagined and we felt so lucky to call it our new home 😘

Then we met the people, the amazing Bowden community who embraced us, dined with us, became our friends and supported us across the last 3 years - thank you.

Finally to all our INCREDIBLE staff, present and past both in the kitchen and out the front, thank you we bloody love you - you made Bowden special ❤️

We now make way for something new as Bowden Cellars will bring you an exciting new offering to their kitchen and we can't wait to see this next phase come to life.

Our last day of trade at Bowden will be Sunday July 7th, so we hope to see as many of your faces roll through across the next few weeks, before we make way for the new and exciting offering taking the reins 🥳

We enjoyed some drinks and a show the other day when good boy Jedd the Kelpie visited - he's mastered many tricks which he showed off to the delighted BC staff.

This young boy was paired with a young Sven Joschke Wine 'La Adeline' Rosé, made from Barossa Valley Mataro, Grenache and Cinsault.

You may not have heard of this youthful label, but it's definitely one to get around!

Spending the last 15 years abroad and interstate, Sven decided to ditch his life as a Chartered Accountant and come back home to South Australia. Now based in the Adelaide Hills and inspired by his experience making wine in Jura, France 🇫🇷 Sven's mission has been simple from the get go - make it delicious, work your backside off, do it with love and most importantly, let nature do the talking.

We've got Sven Joschke Wine coming up in our Friday night tasting lineup - he'll be pouring tastings from 5pm til 8pm on Friday 10th of November, so pop that in your calendars.

This Friday night you'll find our pal Frederick Stevenson, from just around the corner at Oddio Bowden, pouring tastings in the BC bottle shop 🍷

⏰ 5pm - 8pm

Frederick Stevenson was born in 2011, and is the alias for winemaker Steve Crawford who is known for actively seeking fruit from vineyards across South Australia (namely Barossa, Eden Valley and Adelaide Hills) that are farmed organically or sustainably managed.

Starting with a Montepulciano that he made in his garage, Steve has confidently developed his range, building his reputation and forging his own path.
