Liquorland “Easter Extravaganza” COMPETITION 2023

1. The Promoter is Masscash (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”).

2. The Liquorland “Easter Extravaganza Competition 2023 (“the Competition”) will commence on 01 MARCH 2024 and will end on 30 April 2024 at 23h59 (both days inclusive). Any entries received after midnight on the last day will be invalid and will not be considered.

3. The Competition is only open to South African residents, above the age of 18 who are in possession of a valid identity document (“the Participants”), except directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants of, or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by, the Promoter or marketing service providers in respect of the competition, or their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members.

4. By entering the Competition, the Participants accept these terms and conditions (“the Rules”) and agree to abide by them. Any Participant may request to be furnished with copy of the Rules at no cost by emailing such request to [email protected].

5. The Participants stand a chance to win 1 (ONE) of 3 (Hampers-consisting of Laptop, Smart phone and Headphone) valued at R15 000.00 (Fifteen Thousand Rand) each.

6. To enter the Competition, Participants must purchase ALL of the below qualifying products at a participating Club10 tavern, then dial *134*600 # and follow the prompts therein to enter their Name, Surname, City, Province, the Liquorland tavern wherein the purchase has been made, and the last 5 digits of the purchased products’ barcodes. The qualifying products are as follows:

1.1. Castle Lite Cans (6 x 440ml); and
1.2. Three Ships Whisky 1 x 750ml
1.3 Rain Dance Wine 1 x 3L (Any Variant)

7. Entry to the Competition shall be via USSD only. Entries are limited to a maximum of 5 (Five) entries per Participant and each entry requires a separate purchase of all of the above-mentioned qualifying products. USSD Entry session is free of charge to the Participant.

8. It is the responsibility of all Participants to ensure that their USSD entries strictly adhere to the requirements as set out above. Any USSD entry that does not strictly comply with these requirements will be automatically disqualified.

9. It is also the responsibility of all Participants to retain their cash register slip as proof of purchase of the above-mentioned qualifying products. If a Participant cannot produce the cash register slip upon demand, such Participant will be automatically disqualified from the Competition and will forfeit the prize. In the event that the Participant purchases any of the qualifying products with his/her credit/debit card, then a statement from the Participant’s respective bank, reflecting the purchase, shall be accepted as proof of purchase.

10. The winners shall be the first three qualifying entries randomly drawn by way of a draw which will be held at the earliest on 1 June 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter, but no later than three months after the end date of the Competition. An independent person will monitor, verify and certify the draw and except in so far as is provided for in the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, his/her decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.

11. In the event that any winner has previously won a prize in any of the previous 4 (Four) Club10 competitions, the winner will be disqualified and the procedure as set out above will be repeated.

12. Each winner will be telephonically contacted on the cell phone number that was used by the winner to enter the Competition, within a reasonable period of time. The winner will be obliged to satisfy the Promoter within a period of 7 (Seven) business days thereafter that the winner is entitled to the prize in terms of these Rules by producing a valid identification document and proof of purchase.

13. Any and all reasonable steps will be taken in order to contact the winner but if the winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable period of time, the winner will be disqualified, he/she will forfeit the prize and a second draw will be held where the procedure as set out above will be repeated.

14. The prize is non-transferable and all winners will have to claim their prize within 30 days of the draw having taken place and at that time identify themselves with a valid identification document. The Promoter shall have no further liability in respect of the prize, and the winner will sign an acknowledgement of receipt of prize. Failure to claim the prize or a refusal or inability to comply herewith will disqualify the winner and a new winner will be drawn in their place at the sole discretion of the Promoter.

15. Participants enter the Competition entirely at their own risk. The Promoter and its directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, subsidiaries, contractors and any participating CLUB10 store cannot be held responsible or liable for any accident, injury, harm or loss suffered by any person or entity as a direct or indirect result of entering the Competition or suffered as a direct or indirect result of the utilization in any way whatsoever of any prize won in terms of the Competition.

16. Participants hereby agree to release and indemnify the Promoter and its directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors, subsidiaries and any participating CLUB10 store and hold it harmless against any and all losses, harm, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Competition, promotion or special offer or resulting from the participation in the Competition or acceptance, possession, use or receiving of any prize relating to the Competition, including, without limitation, personal injuries, death and property damage and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy.

17. The winners may be required to be photographed and identified in any media, which is inclusive of but not limited to television, radio, print publications and online sites in which the Competition receives exposure and for future marketing initiatives, without any further remuneration being made payable to the winners, with the understanding that the winners may decline such an invitation.

18. Competition artwork is for illustrative purposes only. The Promoter reserves the right to amend the Competition Rules if such amendment is necessary from a practical or fairness point of view. The Promoter shall have the right to terminate the Competition immediately and without notice for any reason beyond its control requiring this. In the event of such termination, all Participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of this Competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter, its agents and staff.

19. You hereby consent to the Promoter using and processing your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) in order to process your entry as stated herein as well as for any marketing and future promotions, if opted in.

20. The Participant can refer to the Privacy Notice available at https://www.massmart.co.za/privacy-centre to confirm how the Promoter will process your Personal Information.

21. Any personal information relating to a winner or a Participant will be used solely in accordance with POPIA and will not be disclosed to a third party unless authorised to do so in terms of POPIA.

22. By participating in the Competition, you consent to the sharing of your personal information between the Promoter and its affiliates including holding and subsidiary companies.

23. The above Rules are severable. This means that if any one rule is found to be unlawful, it will be removed and the remaining Rules will still apply.

24. Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above Rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the Participant.

LIQUORLAND BIRTHDAY “Birthday Splash Out” COMPETITION 2023

1. The Promoter is Masscash (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”).

2. The Liquorland “Birthday Splash Out” Competition 2023 (“the Competition”) will commence on 24 July 2023 and entries to the Competition will close on 24 September 2023 at 23h59. Any entries received after midnight on the last day will be invalid and will not be considered.

3. The Competition is only open to South African residents, above the age of 18 who are in possession of a valid identity document or a passport with a valid temporary or permanent residence permit for South Africa (“the Participant”), except directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants of or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Promoter or marketing service providers in respect of the competition, or the spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members.

4. The Prize will only be awarded:
4.1. to a natural person as stipulated in these rules. Where a winner is not a South African citizen, a valid passport and valid temporary or permanent residence permit for South Africa must be presented in order to be awarded the Prize;
4.2. if it is not unlawful to supply the Prize to a person in terms of any legislation or public regulation and the Promoter/s reserve the right to require proof that it will not be unlawful to supply a Prize (for example to request the winner of a TV to provide his/her valid, fully-paid up TV license to the Promoter/s before they can hand over the prize).

5. By entering the Competition, the Participants accept these terms and conditions (“the Rules”) and agree to abide by them. Any Participant may request to be furnished with copy of the Rules at no cost by emailing such request to [email protected].

6. Each Participant stands a chance to win 1 (One) of 3 (THREE) HAMPERS valued at R15 000.00 (Fifteen Thousand Rand) each (“the Prize”). The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize with any other item of equal or of greater value, should the circumstances require this.

7. To enter the Competition, Participants must purchase ALL of the below qualifying products at a participating Liquorland store and dial *134*600 # in order to follow the prompts therein by entering their Name, Surname, City, Province and Liquorland store wherein the purchase has been made and the last 5 digits of the purchased products’ barcode:

7.1. 1 SIX PACK JC LE ROUX CANS (ANY VARIANT) (6 x 250ml); and
7.2. 1 SIX PACK AMSTEL LAGER CANS (6 x 440ml).

8. Entry to the Competition shall be via USSD only. Entries are limited to a maximum of 5 (Five) entries per Participant and each entry requires a purchase of ALL of the above-mentioned qualifying products in a single purchase. USSD Entry sessions are free of charge to the Participant.

The Promoter and its directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, subsidiaries, contractors and any participating Liquorland store cannot be held responsible or liable for any accident, injury, harm or loss suffered by any person or entity as a direct or indirect result of entering the Competition or suffered as a direct or indirect result of the utilization in any way whatsoever of the Prize won in terms of the Competition.

You consent to the Promoter processing your personal information in order to update the Promoters’ existing records, for the purpose of administering customer relations and/ or to make information available on future promotions which the Promoters may conduct, which you may opt out from at any time.

21. You understand that by entering the Competition, your personal information will be processed in accordance with the Promoters’ Privacy Policies, which are accessible at https://www.massmart.co.za/privacy-centre.

Terms and Conditions

1. The Promoter is Masscash (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”).

2. The Liquorland “KEEP MOVING” (“the Competition”) will commence on 01 JUNE 2022 at (00h00) and will end on 22 JULY 2023 at 23h59. Any entries received on the last day after midnight will be invalid and will not be considered.

3. The Competition is only open to the Liquorland Banner Members that hold a valid liquor license, who are registered on the Promoter’s Data Warehouse System, and whose credit accounts are current and in good standing at the date of draw (“the Participants”). Employees, directors, members, partners, agents or consultants of the Promoter or its subsidiaries, their immediate family members, life partners, business partners, suppliers, service providers and associates and any person directly or indirectly affiliated with the Promoter or any person directly or indirectly involved with the devising, production, management or marketing of the Competition are not eligible to participate in this Competition.

4. The prize will only be awarded:
4.1. to a Participant as stipulated in these rules. Where the winner is a permanent resident, a valid passport and permanent residence permit must be presented in order to be awarded the prize;
4.2. if it is not unlawful to supply the prize to a person in terms of any legislation or public regulation and the Promoter/s reserve the right to require proof that it will not be unlawful to supply a prize (for example to request the winner of a TV to provide his/her TV license to the Promoter/s before they can hand over the prize).

5. By entering the Competition, the Participants accept these terms and conditions (“the Rules”) and agree to abide by them. Any Participant may request to be furnished with a copy of the Rules at no cost by emailing such request to [email protected].

6. Participants stand a chance to win a NISSAN NP 200 valued at R200 000.00 each, VAT inclusive,
7. The Promoter reserves the right to exchange the prize for another of equal or greater value, should the circumstances require this.

8. In order to qualify to enter the Competition, Participants must purchase ALL of the following items listed below at a participating Masscash Cash and Carry Liquor Store:

8.1. 2 (TWO) CASES x BERNINI (ANY VARIANT) 12 x 500ml; and
8.2. 2 (TWO) CASES x AMSTEL LAGER 24 x 440ml

9. Entry to the Competition shall be by means of the single purchase of ALL of the above-mentioned qualifying products which purchase must be captured on the Promoter’s Data Warehouse System. Qualifying Participants will be automatically entered into the Competition.

10. Entries are unlimited and Participants will receive an entry into the Competition every time the Participant makes a purchase of ALL of the above-mentioned qualifying products in a single purchase.

11. The winner shall be the first qualifying entry randomly drawn by way of a draw which will be held at the earliest on 18 August 2023, but no later than 3 (Three) months after the closing date of the Competition. An independent person will monitor, verify and certify the draw and, except in so far as is provided for in the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, his/her decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.

12. In the event that the winner has previously won a prize in any of the previous 4 (Four) Liquorland competitions, the winner will be automatically disqualified and the procedure as set out above will be repeated.

13. The winner will be telephonically contacted on the contact number as captured on the Promoter’s Data Warehouse System within a reasonable time period after the draw and the winner will then be obliged to satisfy the Promoter within a period of 7 (Seven) business days thereafter, that the winner is entitled to the prize in terms of these Rules by producing registration documents of the legal entity or a valid identity document as well as a valid liquor license.

14. Should the winner not be able to comply with the above requirements or if after any and all reasonable steps are taken in order to contact the winner, the winner cannot be contacted within the prescribed period of time, then the winner will be automatically disqualified and a second draw will be held where the procedure as set out above will be repeated.

15. Participants enter the Competition entirely at their own risk. The Promoter and its directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors, any participating Masscash Cash and Carry Liquor Store and/or its subsidiaries cannot be held responsible or liable for any accident, injury, harm or loss suffered by any person or entity as a direct or indirect result of entering the Competition or suffered as a direct or indirect result of the utilisation in any way whatsoever of the prize won in terms of the Competition.

16. Participants hereby agree to release and indemnify the Promoter and its directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and subsidiaries and hold it harmless against any and all losses, harm, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Competition, promotion or special offer or resulting from the participation in the Competition or acceptance, possession, use or receiving of any prize relating to the Competition, including, without limitation, personal injuries, death and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy.

17. The prize is not transferable and cannot be deferred or exchanged for cash. The Promoter will do the necessary, if applicable, to effect transfer of ownership of the prize to the winner and the Promoter will pay all costs relating to transfer of ownership of the prize from the Promoter to the winner. If for any reason, the Promoter cannot transfer ownership to the winner within 60 (Sixty) days from the date the winner’s entitlement to the prize is confirmed in terms of paragraph 11, the winner shall forfeit the prize and a second draw will be held in accordance with paragraph 10 above.

18. The prize must be collected from the relevant Masscash Cash and Carry Liquor Store where the winner entered within 14 (Fourteen) days of the winner being notified to collect the prize whereafter the Promoter shall have no further liability in respect of the prize. Failure to claim the prize or a refusal or inability to comply herewith or if the prize is not collected within 14 (Fourteen) days of being notified the winner will be disqualified and a further draw will be held where the procedure as set out above will be repeated, at the sole discretion of the Promoter.

19. The winner will be required to sign an acknowledgement of receipt of prize. The winner may also be requested to be photographed and/or identified in any media, which is inclusive of but not limited to television, radio, print publications and online sites in which the Competition receives exposure and for future marketing initiatives with the understanding that the winner may decline such an invitation.

20. By entering the Competition, you consent to the processing of your personal information by the Promoters in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act No. 4 of 2013, for a legitimate period for the purposes of administering the Competition, providing the benefits and other activities as contemplated in these Rules. The types of personal information that the Promoters may collect includes but are not limited your name, identity number, e-mail, physical and postal addresses, contact information, and other information you provide when entering and participating in the Competition.

21. The Participant consents to the Promoter processing your personal information in order to update the Promoters’ existing records, for the purpose of administering customer relations and/ or to make information available on future promotions which the Promoters may conduct, which you may opt out from at anytime.

22. You understand that by entering the Competition, your personal information will be processed in accordance with the Promoters’ Privacy Policies, which are accessible at https://www.massmart.co.za/privacy-centre. Competition artwork is for illustrative purposes only. The Promoter reserves the right to amend the Competition Rules if such amendment is necessary from a practical or fairness point of view. The Promoter shall have the right to terminate the competition immediately and without notice for any reason beyond its control requiring this. In the event of such termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of this Competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter, its agents and staff.

23. The above Rules are severable. This means that if any one rule is found to be unlawful, it will be removed and the remaining Rules will still apply.

24. Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above Rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the Participant.
