With extreme heat this week for the uMngeni and surrounds areas we will most probably see some serious storms. Especially predicted for Friday.

Please encourage all neighbours and family to drink water and provide fresh water and shade for your pets from sun and storm / hail. They are not excluded from heat stroke, dehydration or pain of hail.

Please contact me or the uMngeni control room on 0332399244 should there be any disaster during a storm so we can alert the District and our disaster team at Umngeni Municipality.

A repair will likely require the supply being turned off for a period of time.

Nice busy day. Met with Msunduzi Electricity departments to discuss ongoing issues effecting Hilton supply as well as street lights. UMngeni Parks and Gardens manager was also present and we established clear roles when it comes to trees and the trimming thereof which is a main cause of outages.

I have also created a new form to consolidate a report to give to Msunduzi for street lights needing attention. Some have been attended to. Please could all Msunduzi supplied Hilton residents take 3 mins to complete.🙏 See link below:

A tranquil open space called The Garden of Remembrance in Hilton is a space for those to remember fallen soldiers. It is maintained and beautified by two ladies, Penny Purchase and Annelie Robins along with volunteers ❤️ These ladies have been working hard and it's is looking stunning for Armistice Day (11 November). DYK: The We❤️Hilton Market started as a community-driven project to support local creators, crafters, bakers and shakers who pivoted in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and sought other revenue streams in the face of unemployment and redundancy.

As a market, we continue to provide a platform for talented local creators to showcase their beautiful products. We know Hilton is an extremely close-knit community and the people of this wonderful little town have shown nothing but love to our vendors over the past three years 🫶

The We❤️Hilton Christmas Night Market is an extra special event hosted by The Quarry and will include a turning on the shopping centre's magical Christmas lights as well as the opening of Santa's Grotto. There will also be live music and entertainment for the whole family 🎄

Not that I am an NGO but this was truly a great platform to network with some amazing organizations working right here in uMngeni. From animal welfare, education support, recycling / waste, homelessness and enviroment, we are blessed with so much passion. Carrie gave such great guidance for NGOs to brand better and how to manage time and prioritize. Thank you Love Howick for always creating these skills development platforms ❤️

Msunduzi Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal announced a new call centre number on Wednesday that is applicable with immediate effect.

The new number is 087 655 5778.

It said the number and the system is aimed at improving communication between customers and the municipality.

It added that while migrating to the new number, the old numbers are still applicable until further notice but residents are encouraged to use the new call centre number.
