Our Story
Marshall and Mary Rimann opened Rimann Liquors of Lenexa in the Country Hill Center on March 5, 1983. Their vision, to provide the community with an extensive wine and spirits selection, a wide array of imported and craft beers, and what today has become Rimann’s trademark, in-depth customer service. The original 1,500 square foot store was enlarged and remodeled in 1989 and again in 2001 to its current 5,100 square feet.
In 1999, Marshall and Mary purchased a 700 square foot store in the Prairie Village Shopping Center. At the same time, they leased the space formerly occupied by Ambience Fur. On December 1, 1999 the new Rimann Liquors of Prairie Village opened with 4100 square feet of retail space and 2000 square feet of basement storage.
Under the leadership of Andy Wingert, Managing Partner in Lenexa, and Steve Sharpton, General Manager in Prairie Village, Rimann Liquors has built its business and reputation on friendly, courteous customer service. For three years in a row, Food & Wine Magazine included Rimann’s in their list of “TOP WINE SHOPS IN AMERICA” based on selection, service and advice. Today, both Rimann Liquors of Lenexa and Prairie Village have become two of the highest volume retail liquors stores in Kansas.
The Kansas City Star recently named Marshall as “One Who Has Made A Difference” in the wine business in Kansas City.
