Making Art from History
Pumice is a stone created by a volcanic eruption. In Santorini the great eruption took place thousands of years ago, resulting in the addition of lava and the pumice.
The pumice is a kind of volcanic, light and porous rock. To do this art we collect and carve the stones in a certain way, taking care not to break them.
We also create Santorini houses, windmills and churches in hand one by one. Every village we create is unique and it takes days of careful work to get this fantastic result. We create them all in the same place where the stones belong.
