This is going to be a great night - join us!

Our first social event of the year is kicking off Wednesday 22nd January at Bar 1661. Join us as we celebrate Burns Night with Sam Mc Donald (Sam has worked as brand ambassador and London venue manager of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society) and some exceptional expressions from the Scottish Malt Whisky Society.
Guests will be greeted on arrival with a whisky cocktail from the award winning bar team at Bar1661. From there will try:

* Cask 41.115 Scottish Lemon Preservation Society. 10YO 62.4% [Spicy & Dry]
* Cask 55.56 Teuchter Dubstep
11 YO 55.2% [Light & Delicate]
* Cask # 112.37 Teasing And Enticing
23 YO 53.2% [Sweet, Fruity & Mellow]
* Cask # 137.7 How To Kill Your Dragon
7 YO 65.5% [Peated]

We'll round out the night with some Burns Night themed food boards.

Priority booking opens to IWS members on Monday 13th Jan with member tickets costing €20 and the option to book a guest ticket (€30)
Booking for non members opens Wednesday 15th Jan. Tickets for non members €30.

Our story

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is a club unlike any other. As well as being a place to connect with other like-minded whisky lovers, we are also internationally renowned for our mission: to provide our members with an adventurous and fun journey of discovery of the world's widest collection of single cask whiskies.

Our Society grew out of a few individuals' irrepressible spirit of discovery and adventure, which still drives us today. Inspired by the unique character of a single malt whisky cask, purchased over 30 years ago from a Speyside distillery, this pioneering group of friends founded the Society in 1983 to buy more casks and share their discovery with like-minded adventurers.

Each of our single cask whiskies must pass the uncompromising noses of our expert Tasting Panel – a secretive group of independent whisky connoisseurs from all walks of life – before being deemed worthy of an iconic Society green bottle. The selection criteria are simple: quality and interest. All the Tasting Panel’s work is performed with no information on age, origin or cask type, to ensure Society whiskies are always bottled when they are ready, whether young or old, Highland or Lowland, sherry casked or ex-bourbon.

All our whiskies are bottled at cask strength and are not subjected to chill filtration or any other interference, so members can enjoy their dram as if it were straight from the cask. The net result is bottlings that often surprise, as well as delight, and which accurately reflect the remarkable variety in the craft of distillation, as well as the infinite complexities of wood, spirit and time, which can only be uncovered in a single cask bottling.
