Non-alcoholic (NA) beer is growing rapidly in appeal. So, what’s the difference between “non-alcoholic” and “alcohol-free” labels?
✔️ Non-alcoholic brews must have less than 0.5 percent ABV.
✔️ The alcohol-free label carries even stricter requirements. The beer must contain 0.0 percent alcohol, and to verify a brand’s claim, each producer must send a liquid sample to the TTB for proper testing to ensure the beverage is truly zero proof.

In Minnesota, we call them pulltabs. They’re called bell jar tickets in New York. Nebraskans know them as pickle cards.

Minnesotans wager more money than people in any other state playing this charitable game of chance, which has become a ubiquitous part of the state’s bar culture.

Minnesotans spent more than $4 billion on paper and electronic pulltabs last year, according to the state’s Gambling Control Board.

That makes Minnesota the biggest spender for pulltab gambling, according to the St. Paul-based National Association of Fundraising Ticket Manufacturers, a trade group for companies that make pulltabs.

Does alcohol give you a higher pain threshold? Scientist Jeff Boissoneault, director of the Minnesota Alcohol and Pain Lab, conducted a new experiment that looks at the ways pain and alcohol use are interconnected

Using alcohol for pain management is risky — but the results indicate the pain-reducing effects of booze seem to increase linearly, according to Boissoneault.

In other words, the more you drink, the less it hurts.

Researcher Jeff Boissoneault also has created a virtual reality bar for his drinking experiments.
