The idea of Wyoming Whiskey was hatched on the Mead Ranch, just outside of Jackson, Wyoming, by its Founders David DeFazio, Kate Mead, and Brad Mead in June of 2006. In the living room of the fourth-generation ranch home, a Mission Statement was crafted to guide the venture:
“To produce Wyoming’s first premium whiskey, using regional ingredients, through a select process that promotes Wyoming’s natural and human resources.”
The idea to make bourbon sprung from a conversation between Brad and Kate, and David was tasked with figuring out how to bring the idea to life. The Meads, cattle ranchers and attorneys by trade, sought to diversify their operations and construct a distillery at the site of an old roping pen on their ranch in Kirby, Wyoming. Today, Wyoming’s Whiskey can be found in all 50 states and brings to you a taste of the West.
