While on a punk rock cruise, recently stopped over in Mexico, we were hit with extreme weather. The weather was so wicked we decided to leave Mexico and head back to the ship..
Not before taking a few shots of Mayan chocolate liquor and buying a wicked Mayan hand carved bong/pipe from fishbone. Its siiiiick!
Once on the boat, we learned that an excursion bus headed to the Mayan temple was washed out so they had to hike to the ruins on foot...
In Mayan jungle..
on foot..
They were fortune that the hike was only a mile. Later in the day the road was cleared and they returned to the ship. Cold, wet, and tired.
The ship waited for these kind folks because karma and all that... which made us late to leave port.
My glorious cabin-mate and I were in the dinner hall when I got the text asking what had happened. Confused..... I asked what about. They stated they were told that we were left behind in Mexico and something about the Mayan excursion. (drinking and playing telephone tag I can only assume).
My poor use of humor took this as opportunity.
I had explained that our bus on the way to the Mayan temple was washed off the side of the road. I then explained that a giant Mayan gator that the locals called "El Santos" saved us.
(This terribly translates to "the saints").
I thought it was funny....
they thought it was true....
Which got only funnier as the legend of "El Santos" grew.
Some place over the time period we added the german "Das" to the front now claiming our Mayan Gator as "Das El Santos" which translates to "Many The Saints" or plural of Da which is "There".
The savior of many but also the savior of one.
Das El Santos is also the founding father of "Gator Blood".
This is where he hand rolls the Gars you see before you.
Each one will have a story from the legend of Das El Santos for you to share or change as your see fit.
The legend.
The savior of many.
The savior of one.
(**whispers**) - Das el Santos
