On Wednesday afternoon Oldham Mountain Rescue Team received a call from North West Ambulance Service to assist with a fell runner who had slipped and injured their ankle while descending Alderman above Dovestones.

Team members were deployed to the location.

Paramedics were on scene providing medical assistance, but needed help getting the patient to the ambulance.

The runner was placed on a team stretcher and carried off the hill to the ambulance before being taken to hospital.

A total of 18 team members were involved for one hour.

WELL DONE to all those involved, including the VOLUNTEERS from the Oldham Mountain Rescue Team.

Good luck to the home nations. This story takes me back to when I had a Subbuteo Express set - not on a cloth but on a board. The principle was the same, though. I then got bought a Subbuteo Cricket game which I had for ages, too. What games from long ago do you guys remember?

The Subbuteo World Cup will take place in Tunbridge Wells from 20 to 22 September.

Prior to Christmas, Mars omitted Bounty bars from some of their Celebration boxes completely, following market research. Evidently, this product usually ends up en masse at the end of the box. What is your favourite and least favourite "mini" chocolates in these sorts of boxes? I personally like the Twixes but disregard anything like Bounty / Snickers. Also anything with dark chocolate will be left.
